Ruger mkII all-weather in 338 win mag. Got a good deal on it at a gun show and thought I'd be doing a lot if moose hunting. Boy was I wrong! Ahaha!

Technically it'd be a 22LR, but I think of larger edible game when the word "hunting" is mentioned so it's a 270win.

I like that most of the options are mature cartridges, but you omitted some of the finer mature rounds like 6.5x55, 250sav, 257roberts, 7x65r Brenneke ... but points for excluding the recent cult rounds.

2019 Winchester model 70 Alaskan. In 30/06. Great rifle, just wish it wasn't a 25 inch barrel. Was thinking a CZ 527 carbine, with the 18.5 inch barrel in 7.62x39 as my second one, for when I need a shorter lighter gun.

Mine was a .300 wsm. It was an awful choice as before that I had only ever shot a .22. I had moved to a new town and decided to "become" a hunter. Had way to much boom for an inexperienced shooter and I developed a terrible flinch. Almost put me off of hunting and shooting but I traded it for a 7mm08 and it made all the difference in the world. Definitely rushed in and learned my lesson. Haha
