Nice young Whitey buck harvested with a Stainless Savage 16 Weather warrior in 7mm Mag, Swan Hills area of Alberta, on the south slope of a mountain called, quite coincidentally, "Deer Mountain."
Browning A-bolt II Composite Stalker in .270 Win. 150 Grain Nosler Partition. I shot him twice at 35 yards. A bolt action was never cycled as fast, ever in history.
For big bucks, I have taken 5 good mulies and 1 whitey, all taken with a 700 in 6MM Rem. I have plenty of other rifles, but my 6MM is unbelievably accurate and until last year, was my primary.
My 280 build is now complete, so hopefully several years from now, I can boast about my successes with it as well.
My best was taken from inside a pop up blind ( Ground MAx DX ) with my Kustom KS .350 Rem mag model 7, 225 partition, Leupold VX II 2x7. 130 inch 8 pointer that dressed at 238 lbs. He's on my wall.
My personal best(which fails in comparison to most here) was a nice fat white tail buck with a mod 70 .30-06. Interestingly enough though, one of my smaller mulie does was taken while looking to fill a moose tag with my Cz 550 .375 H&H, and the same season my moose tag was filled with a .270. The doe fell flat where I hit her and didn't even twitch.Go figure.
