Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 sporter. $29 from Sears around 1960. Gave it to my son a few years ago. He still uses it for hunting. It will group 5 into an inch at 100 yds.
Remington 700 ADL 30-06 when they had wood stocks and the blind magazine. I still have it, but don't use it as much now as I have a few other big game rifles. I'll probably hang on to it forever because of the sentimental value it has, not to mention can be used for just about everything in North America.
I owned a couple of shotguns and a 22 preeviously, but my first big game rifle was a Ruger 77 Mk II stainless, in 7mmRM. It had the old style canoe paddle stock. I still own the rifle, and it still shoots very well.
Remmington 700 BDL with SPS stock in .270 Win topped with Leupold M8 4x fixed scope. Just bought it used last month and I'm itching to buy other calibres already.
