What Was your first deer shot with?

Hmmm, 44 years ago with a Win 94 30-30.
Deer (doe) was being pushed by beagles - stopped about 12 yards in front of the blind I was in with my Dad. I remember it like yesterday - can still remember thinking "this is so close I can see individual hairs on the shoulder I was aiming at". Don't remember all or even many of the deer in between now and then, but the first is always ingrained

Got my first with a good old no4 .303 with the battle sights. Rattled him in shot through the lungs about 20 yards. In my neck of the woods many first deer were taken with 303 brits.

Mine was a 7.62x39 in the neck as well. Fat spike horn walking broadside 75 yards from where I was standing with a good ole SKS. It went DRT
