What Was your first deer shot with?

Remington model 700 CDL in .30-06. Was 14 and shaking like a leaf. Took 6 shots before I put one through the bucks neck. The shakes were far worse when I walked up and knelt beside him. Addicted to deer hunting ever since.
 
My grandfather was a gunsmith, a carpenter and he made musical instruments as well. He did a custom build using an old Lee Enfield No 1 Mk III surplus rifle chambered in 303 British. He cut off the wrist and altered the action to fit in a custom stock he carved. He ground off the stripper clip and sights. He drilled and tapped it for a scope.

I shot my first white-tailed deer out in Alberta with that rifle in November 2014. The shot was about 125 yards.

My grandfather, uncle, father and now myself, have harvested meat using that rifle so I was happy that I got my first deer using it. Back in Ontario I use a Santa Barbara M1000 in 7x57. I hope this is the year that I will be successful here in Ontario.
 
LH Remington 788...(.308) 8 pt Pennsylvania buck at the time when there were no deer in Quebec. Plenty now.

12 years old. Rem 788 in 243. 100yards running straight across me. Hit him high in the spine, finished him within 30sec.

BUT!!!....the year after, 5 minutes into the season, same gun, 400yards across a coulee, nice 10pt buck broadside, took shot from a kneeling position, all that happened was he lifted his head, thought I had completely sh!t the bed.... then he took 4 steps and dropped dead!!!! Right in the boiler room!!!
