What Was Your First Handgun and Do You Still Have It?

Astra NC-6 .22 revolver. Still have it, and will until I pass it on to my son.

Good old TT33 like many a Canadian years back.
I sold it long ago. Then bought another two. Then sold those.
I go through handguns like socks!
I have had about the same rifles for years but I cannot settle on a handgun. My current is a tuned up Norc 1911 9mm which is kicking ass so far!

I ordered a Ruger Single Six with a 6 1/2" barrel, and it came with a 9 1/2". Should have sent it back. This was over 4o years ago and the idea was to take it with me while moose hunting, and the extra 3" was too much.

My first was a Colt Government model .45 series 80 purchased in 1985 eventually sold it and my other Colt 45s on consignment at Wolverine when I accepted that while I loved the looks and history of the gun I really disliked the weight and the grip safety.
Speaking of Lever Arms the first gun I bought when I moved to Vancouver was a Glock 23 from Mr. Lever who was a true gentleman.
And for the curious I sold it as well but doubled my money on it.

First Single Action, Ruger Blackhawk .30carbine, bought in 87.

First Double Action, Ruger Security Six, stainless steel, with 2 3/4" barrel, bought in 90. Shot my first hog with it using Winchester Black Talon

Still own and use/shoot both.

First Semi Auto, Colt Combat Commander .45ACP, sadly sold for rent money.

Sig P226 Enhanced Elite. Still the most reliable workhorse of a handgun that I own. Accurate, shoots everything I try needs minimal cleaning and still looks pretty much like it did the day I bought it. They will pry it from my cold dead hands.

Mine was a Springfield GI I bought in early 07. I had always been fascinated by 1911s since I was a kid and I had my PAL fresh off the press. I was working in Edmonton and was killing time at the mall when I saw it in the display case. I saved for weeks and the day I picked it up was the start of a whole new world. It was exactly what I wanted, a reasonable repro of a WW2 .45. Still have it, took it out of the safe tonight for the picture after I saw this thread. I swapped the grips and safety a couple years ago. I don't shoot it much but I should take it out to the range more. Its a beauty, gritty slide and the trigger breaks consistently at 8 lbs! I just checked. No wonder it sits in the safe.

I've had real USGI pistols since, but this one is a keeper because it was my first one. And yes, I put the idiot scratch on it. First thing I did after I got home with it, I tore it apart and inadvertently marked it. I'd like to think I've learned a bit about them since....

1968 BHP "T"-series from my father(RIP) who purchased it BNIB. Hasn't seen many rounds and will be passing it on to my son when I'm done....

My first pistol was given to me by a friend who wanted me to get a restricted endorsement on my fac he says do it and i will give you this llama 45 acp, its the only handgun i ever owned that i recieved a plastic wallet reg cert for and i still have it, i have tried to get other buddies into restricted class by saying i would give it to them if they did but alas i still have and still shoot it too

A railed frame German made Sig P226 9mm that I got from SFRC as soon as I got my RPAL after turning 18. I've since bought several more, some of which I shoot a lot better, but it shoots well enough, is very reliable, and was my dream gun for a long time. I will have it until I die.
