What was your first rifle ever? Do you still own it?

My first was a Remington 7600 in .270 WIN. To many it's the perfect gun, but I couldn't stand the thing. Maybe it was a lemon, but when it came down to it everything about it didn't work for me, and I am to this day thrilled with the fact I traded it off for a sported US M1917 and some cash which I promptly spent on a Lithgow SMLE.

Great job guys!
Keep the posts comming!

Almost everyone has a fond memory of thier first firearm!

My first purchased rimfire was a 10/22.
My next one was inherited(i know its not in my original thread heading.)
It was a Savage/Anshutz model 310. I have shot close to ten thousand Rounds through it I would wager.
Poor gophers. It still shoots great!
Come on you gunnutz! Lets hear some more first purchased/or inherited firearms! This is great!

First purchase for me was a VZ 24 Mauser in 1961 for $38.00 including dies and 2 boxes of ammo, still have and its still a great shooter.
Its put a lot of meat in the freezer including my first Moose and made a lot of memories.
Used part of my summer wages to buy it as I was still in school and the summer job was driving a road grader for the princely sum of $10.00 per day.

First gun ever bought was a model 600 cooey. Great gun. Still have it. Don't shoot it much. Will never sell it.

First gun given to me. Model 840 in a 20 guage, which was my very first gun.

Mossberg 4x4 I got my money back on and bought a browning that actually shoots instead of going *click*.
I love my first rimfire though, one of those henry lever actions.

Mine was .300 Sav.99 TD.It was Grampa's,My Dads,My older brothers and now mine. The wood is getting shakyBut still shoots extremely well.Theres quite a hunting history behind this rifle.I'v retired it (except for a couple of rounds a year).

The first rifle I bought was a Ruger M77 tang safety in 308 Win. Sold it.
The first shotgun was a Remington Wingmaster 12 ga. Sold it.
The first 22 rimfire was a CIL Model 200 semi auto. Sold it.

A M94 Winchester in 30 "WCF" e.g. .30-30, discarded, shot out Toronto Police saddle ring carbine, bought for $20 for me by my father, I was 16. That fall, 1943, in a posh hunting camp on Lake Baptese, Ontario, I shot a 10 point whitetail and 2 days later, a spike buck. Father and uncle shot zip.

Have I got it now, No, f:P:2:f:P::bangHead: but I did sell it for $40, for a profit.

Now for spending my own money, I paid $40 to Charlie Parkinson in London for a prewar M12 BSA Martini .220 (.22LR). With that I killed a great many ground hogs on both sides of the Thames River flats, south of Borhwell and east of Thamesville. I finally sold tne rifle to a CGNut last year.

First .22 I bought, a new Marlin bolt action. It now lives down the road at my best friends house, I don't realy regret selling it. It has been replaced by a 77/22 and a
94/22; I've had both for around 15 yrs.
First rifle a new Ruger stainless M77 .270. I sold to my other best friend up the road from me, I do regret selling it, but is good to see it serving my neighbor well!

My first rifle was a terribly abused parker hale in .270 win. When money was available I completely re-did it and it turned out fantastic. Would still own it if some douche didn't steal it from me..........thats ok don't feel too bad for me the registry should find it and return it

A nylon 66 black apache. Was pretty happy with it, but the trigger pull was too creepy to suit me. Long range accuracy was beer bottle at 60 yards at best, not good enough for gophers. Bought a Brno model 2 and sold the nylon to my brother. Don't really miss it much, my 10/22 has a better trigger and has a better loading system, and is more accurate.

I still have the first rifle I owned (Cooey Ace 22 ca) ..it was given to me by my Dad and now I fixed it up for my Grandson .

The first rifle I ever bought was a sporterized Enfield bought it from Woolco in Londoderry Mall in Edmonton for $40 (1974).....regretfully sold it :( later on

First rifle I ever owned was the first one I fired,my grandmothers model 75 Cooey, she had it since she was 14. We used to shoot it as kids and she gave it to me for my 12th birthday and I still have it.I'm 48 now, she's 91 and still shoots it once in a while. A couple yrs ago I bought a Savage 12 fvss 22-250,put a nice Leupold on it,had it Ackley Improved, had her name "Ophelia" stamped in the bbl and she fired the first shot from it. :)
