What was your first rifle ever? Do you still own it?

First gun I ever bought was an old Remington model 11 12ga. about a month after getting my license to shoot sporting clays with a friend. Still have it and still love shooting it.

Purchased a Savage 340 in 222 Rem in 1990. Took more small game on my Dad's farm with that rifle when I was a teenager than all game combined since. Traded it years ago though for a Springfield 1911 in 45 acp. Don't have that now either. Traded that for a Sharps 45-70 which I don't have anymore. Hmm...seems to be a trend there somewhere.

Win. model 70 in .270 win. I got it at le baron when I was 18 years old going to use it in 3 weeks for whitetail deer.

Red Ryder BB-gun. Still around but in parts. Picked up a new one for my Son but it's not the same.
First 'real' rifle was my Father's single shot Cooey .22 - many a critter fell to that.
Still have it, and that will be my Son's first 'rifle'.

The Ryder was my Father's as well - figure it's early to mid 50's vintage.
Anyone know who can restore/rebuild those?

First rifle was a .22 LR in Cooey model 60 with a scope. Picked roots at age 15 for 80 cents an hour for a neighbor until he owed me $25. He said I could have his gun or the $25.

Next was a CIL 972C in .270 made by Parker Hale. A 16th birthday gift.

Still have these guns.

A Relum Tornado. .22 air rifle. I had it for 5 years, put thousands of pellets through it 'til it litterally fell to pieces.

I loved that gun and it got me hooked.

That was 40 years ago. I would love to find another Tornado now.

DaveD:)

CZ air rifle when I was about 8 years old got it for an x-mas present. First "real" gun was a 12 gauge 870 at age 12 traded a celing fan for it... have them both to this day... with many many others. Its against my religion to ever part with a firearm :)

Marlin 336 30-30 was a gift over 30 years ago but sold it as I was only a shotgunner at the time. Didn't start deer hunting for many years later, wish I had kept it now.

BLR-22. My brother screwed up the action by short stroking and bending something in the action. It wouldn't close up properly after that so I sold it.

First big game rifle I bought: M-700 Remington ADL in .30-06. Still have it; it's a 1978 era production and a keeper. Bedded in a Wildcat Composite stock; Baush & Lomb 3-9X scope, Leopold 1-piece base.
