what was your first rimfire?

It was a substantial number of years ago. I was 8, and my dad said one day, "I have something for you" He handed me a Winchester model 1902 Single shot fixed-sight junior size rifle. He may as well handed me the world, I was so proud and excited. That little rifle sure saw a lot of use over the next couple of decades. Many a ground squirrel hated it, as did starlings and such ilk. It was marked 22 short & long, but I shot thousands of Long rifles through it as well. Technically, it probably should not have shot them well, but I sure never noticed any problem. Regards, Eagleye.

First .22 rifle was a Mossberg 352kb. Which led me to buy other mossy's and want them all. :)

First .22 handgun (and still my fav) is a nice S&W model 17-3 that was given to me as a present.

My parents wouldn't let me have guns when I was a kid, but my best friend had a bolt action Remington Nylon, so when I was old enough to buy my own I got a Nylon 66. Nice gun, but always wished I could find a detachable mag version, the 10C or 77, or a bolt-action like my friend's.

My first .22 was a cooey model 82 that had been customized to be a youth rifle. My Dad bought it for me for $65 back in the early eighties. Funny thing is I took to the range yeserday for the first time in probably 15 years and had lots of fun with it.

The first .22 I purchased was a Ruger 10/22. I was 16 and the ink on my brand new FAC was hardly even dry.

I still have both of these rifles and plan on making the cooey my kids first rifle.

Browning BL22. I love that lever action. First gun I ever shot. There is no way I would ever sell it. My brother and I both got one at the same time. Dad came in the room and said "Who wants which one?". I was pretty stoked.

Mine was a Cooey Model 39. I bought it when I was 10 years old with money I made on my first paper route. My shooting mentor sold it to me for $4.00. I sure was proud of that little rifle!! Used it for alot of years.....Ken

.... "Annie" single shot, until the Police took it away ! ( Sniping ducks, underage, in a residential/park area on the River .... spoil sports ! ) ...David K.
