what was your first rimfire?

My first was a Cooey model 60. Dad bought it many years ago. I refinished the stock in shop class. That little rifle is dead accurate. Still have it, but haven't shot it for years.

Cooey senior single shot christmas 1955 age ten shot Dominion marksmen program run by Peterborough Fish & Game sponserd by rhe CIL Dominion ammunition Co., too bad todays kids don't have a similar support network. At first we shot at the indoor Peterborough Armories range, those who didn't have a rifle could use the Enfield 22's', Dominion longs were 45 cents/fifty and awards free no other fees great program too bad there's nothing like it now..

Win Mod 63. 12 years old, and living in Berta, shot LOTS! of gophers, still have and will never sell it, also have my Grandpa's Win mod 61 slide, with one of those really long narrow scopes, a very accurate shooter.

My dad was from Scotland and only bought fake guns. It drove me mental. I bought a Ruger 10/22 when I was 18. When I was 22 my ex-wife cheated on my and I stayed with a highschool buddy for a time He figured I was so upset over the breakup that I might do something drastic so he took my Ruger and boarded it up in his reno house. If anyone is thinking of buying a house in Prince George, BC, let me know. There is a decent straight shooting rifle in a nice looking addiction):

My first "bought with my own money" .22 was a Squires Bingham m16. First ever was a Ranger 75 (is actually a cooey...)
First new in the box was a stainless 10/22.

I still have and shoot them all.:)

wow...that's a nifty Squires Bingham! is something like that still non-restricted or is it too close to a replica that it's deemed prohib now?

Winchester Model 62a pump action. When I was 16 I was looking at buying a cheap .22 from Canadian Tire. My dad kept putting it off and putting it off thinking I would lose interested. When he finally figured out I was not giving up on getting a .22 he told me that my uncle (his brother) had this old .22 that he bought when he was 16. Apparently they had 2 of them at one time but one went missing in action somewhere.

I'm now 42 and my dad is now 77 so the gun is at least 60 years old and still shoots great. Probably one of the most fun guns I've ever shot with the pump action. It's in need of a little restoring. It got left in a case with a damp cardboard tube that was hard on the bluing. I keep meaning to take it in somewhere but just haven't got around to it. If anyone knows the name of a good gunsmith that can clean it up, let me know.

My first rimfire was a .22 Cooey Model 64 semi-automatic. I bought it when I was 17 in 1969. I still have and use that rifle.

North American Arms

Got my first rimfire when I was about 8 years old in 1967, a North American Arms (NAACO) Grizzly No.10 bolt-action, single-shot. Still have it and will pass it on to my kids.
