My longest kill shot was a Bull Moose in NL. Using a Ruger MK II in 300 WM at a distance of 625yds. Fired three shots and hit him twice.
My next best was a Mule Deer buck using the same rifle at a distance of 518yds.
I've shot several deer at 699 + yards but my longest shot was on a caribou a long f***g way away. We were breaking up camp after guiding for 6 weeks and a caribou appearred a way back . A couple of guys were blasting away so I said watch this I sat down and locked the military sling in place a put a lot of daylight under the crosshairs and he came tumbling off the ridge. When I got up to him it got up like drunken soldier and I had to finish him off. I found that the bullet a 160 gr partition out of a &mm @ 3100 fps had hit him in the neck but didn't have enough energy to break the neck. I'm sure that someone will call bull#### so I won't say how far I figured him to be. Was this a repeatable shot-not likely but I had done a lot of long range shooting here and in Bisely. Ps I shouldn't have shot but was sort of pushed into it and knew that we had all day to find the animal if wounded in the wide open spaces.

420 yards - LARGE cow moose - Huskavana 7mm 165 federal prem bt
275 yard - med doe - 308 reminghton pump 180 gr federal
both range finder verified - I was laying on the ground for both with lots of time.
Closest shot - about 7 yards on large 10pt buck - as it was charging into my call - when I shot 3 deer ran for where he came out of - I assume they were ladies. As I was on the ground it was more like self defence and less like hunting
About 800 yds - racoon with a 243 and 75gr bullet. Took 18 shots. It was in a group of five running across an open field and my son was spotting and calling the shots.
290 yards across a logging cut on a 3 point mulie buck, using my hand me down Winchester Model 88 with Leopold Rifleman scope. Ammo used was 165 grain Accubond, in factory Federal configuration. Took out the heart and both lungs, dropped him in his tracks. I love that old gun!!!
