What weapon will you be big game hunting with this year?

The guns I'll take for my moose trip are my 7mm mag and probably 270.

There is a nice 25 acre patch of 15' jack pines I know a big buck hangs out in so I might take the 30-30 as well.

Aside from the 410 for birds and the 444 camp gun, that'll be it.

Oh wait, I forgot my cooey 22. Yeah, that's all.

I'll be taking my .410 single shot for opportunistic shots at grouse, too. Not big game but heck, it's my thread! :) If you are taking a grouse getter, what will you be bringing along? ;)

I'll be using my Kimber Montana .338 Federal for elk, my Zastava M70PSS 7x64 Brenneke for whitetail, and not sure on the moose rifle yet. Maybe my CZ 550 Magnum .375 H&H or my Husqvarna 9.3x62. My Ruger Alaskan .416 Ruger has yet to harvest any game and would be adequate for moose as well.

Not sure where you live as you don't list a location, but I guess you can bow hunt on a open season but need draws for using a gun? How about deer? Using a bow too?

SOunds like you have lots of interesting choices, too! My choice would be the Ruger, of course ;)
 
Yes I'm heading out in 2 weeks, pretty excited. But I'm always interested in other people's choice of weapons for hunting. I e started threads like this before!!

I'm also always interested in seeing the different weapon choices due to geographic location, province and how provincial hunting seasons effect weapon choice. Hence me asking Bowie about his choice of a bow due to not getting any draws.

We don't have much in the way of weapon restrictions in BC either- crossbows are legal in bow season, few shotgun only seasons and no muzzle loader seasons. And during GOS you can use a bow, crossbow, muzzleloader, rifle or shotgun with slugs or buckshot on some species. It's interesting to see how weapon choice is dictated by special seasons across the country.
 
2010 Diamond Iceman FLX bow for archery deer, Kimber 84M 308 for moose/deer and Ruger 44 Carbine for deer during the late controlled hunt.

May also carry my Benelli R1 during moose season
