I'm upping my budget from the maverick 88 range to $800-850 for a "tactical shotgun".

I've been out of the guns for a while and don't know what's awesome anymore. I'd like to hear your options of what a guy should buy. My requirements are pump, black, ghost ring sights.

What does CGN think?

Binelli supernova tactical. I love mine. Drilled and tapped for a picatinny rail. Right around your price point if not cheaper on the ee.

Mossberg - Couple here

Exactly ... I'd stay away from the star wars SG's.

For Remington there's really only one.... 870P. Stick with the 18.5" or get a 14" barrel.

For Mossberg there's what 5 or 6 _590a1's ? I'd go with either the 20" with ghost ring sights or a 14" barrel kit. (although I like the 18.5"_ 590a1 a lot).
Can't go wrong with either one. I have em both and like em both equally. Both have pluses and both have minuses so work out about the same in the end IMO.

I like my tricked out wingmaster with 21" cut vent rib barrel and mag extension. I really like the fact i can switch the barrel and endcap then go sit in a friends duck blind. If i wanted a dedicated gun i would go with the Mossberg 590 with the longest mag possible.

The 870 is arguably the most versatile option, especially if you're planning to own multiple barrels from 12.6" on up. On the other hand, if you"te only considering only one barrel length and looking for a factory option that's goog to go right out of the box, a 20" 590A1 is hard to beat.

Thanks for all your input I think 870P will be the winner, meets all my requirements, most aftermarket support, plus it's sweet.
