What would you pay for legal full cap AR15 magazines?

not that I or anyone here condones illegal activity, but what exactly would the consequences be of using illegal hi-cap mags?

Wouldn't you need to show a business plan or some junk like that?

I doubt you can just stole in the say, "I have a company, give me money."

Any idea what the age cap was?

the small business center can help with anything you might need, and let you know what option would be best for you.a biz plan was more essential for bank loans, but a rougher version might be required.
i want to say the cut off (in ontario anyway) was 25, but i'm not 100%. new plans, loans and grants have come out and/or been revised since i looked into it. it's also different for each type of company and what your producing. i ended up finding a private investor who saw the potential and offered a small percent of the company rather than a typical loan repayment. you might have a great deal of luck going the private route with some of the projects you have on the go.

I've already gone the private route. I just figured my new employer would like some free money for R&D. It's the least I could do. Could you imagine having to deal with me every day? :D

Haven't read the whole thread, but for a 30 rounder, I'd go 100$ easy. 100$ isn't much to have something the law forbids in it's current "form".

Just ask how much people would pay for "legal" suppressors... I'd sell a kidney! ;)

If 30 rounder was legal, you would pay $100??? Give your head a shake...in a nice way. If 30 rounders were legal...buy them in the US, only $15-$20 a piece...

Well, I haven't read it all either.
Right now a full capacity mag is 5 rounds. I wouldn't pay more that $8 for one of those.
If you can play the game and make them 10 rounds...$10.

and if you are talking about 30 rounders. $15-$20. SAME price as in the US.
Why would we pay more?? If you charge more, I will just go south and get a case lot myself. (that is if 30 rounders were made legal of course)

completely missed the point of the thread huh?

Something completely different so excuse the hijack but....

If a pistol mag can go into a rifle and be OK, can a hicap mag from a rifle go into a bolt action and be OK?

Would a hicap AR mag fitted to a Savage 223 be legal?

The new center feed mag system lends itself well to make AR mags work. An adapter or new floor plate would need to be made but that seems quite easy.

Any thoughts?

Jerry

PS while developing you mag making business, consider making hicap mags for these savages. The center feed mags from the factory are superb but right now 4rds. If a 10rd or larger could be made, there would be a huge aftermarket demand throughout NA. These new center feed Savage rifles are selling out as fast as the factory can make them. McMillan and HS have jumped on board making dmag stocks. Now someone has to make the mags.

First, it isn't "hicap", it's "standard capacity". Second, no. The device is controlled, not the use, so a standard capacity AR mag is prohibited. Doesn't matter how you use it.

That's why a pistol mag has a ten-round capacity, and can be used in any manner you wish, including in a long arm.

+1!!!

Assyrian, I'll try to explain. I'm not stupid, I wouldn't pay a cent over the normal price for a LEGAL item. I would pay much more for an item that would've found a loophole in the law and that would be the equivalent of an illegal one.

Sure, if 30 rounders would be legal there would be no reason to pay more. But the fact is, they aren't. If someone could produce a 30 rounder that would be legal for "x" reasons and that could fit ARs, that would be worth spending more, since officially "regular" 30 rounders are still illegal. (kinda like the 10 rounder for the RRA LAR15, that proves the law is stupid. One more thing, if you can belt feed your AR, there's no ammo limit. Vive les lois!).

Go read the first post and then make comments. You just confessed to making comments when you don't even know what's going on. Wow.

they have grants for just about anything, i do believe there's some intended new businesses or individuals that 'piggyback' on an existing company. it's worth asking around. maybe look at some sort of research and development type, that is more or less what your doing....sort of.

just make sure the bolt gun with the good capacity mag will NOT fit an stock AR.

remember, you can modify the gun all you want, but not the mag without pinning it.

to run full capacity mags, i have no problems machining the mag well slightly to fit the mag.

I know, but thanks for the reminder. ;)

I was thinking a block of metal at the back of the mag. It would stop the mag from being inserted in a stock magwell. The rib that sticks out the back for the bolt hold open portion of the follower would be wider. An AR15 mag would need that slot for the back of the follower opened up. Of course it wouldn't need to be opened the whole height of the mag well, just a 1/4 inch or so. Really depends how much blockage is needed to stop the mag from being usable in a stock lower.

Why Can't The Magazine Be Altered???
That's the way the law is written. You can't modify the mag to fit the gun, but you can mod the gun to fit the magazine.

Think of it this way, pretend there is currently a bolt action .223 rifle that has 30 round box magazines. If you took those magazines and "rebuilt" them to fit in an AR15, you've just made AR15 magazines, which are limited to 5 rounds.

so Sask, are you going to make your AR180 version a bolt gun?
Nope. Probably just a basic .223 bolt gun.

I've got better things in mind, ie pump, but a basic bolt would be cheaper and faster to get to market. Plus cheaper means better sales. Who wouldn't want an affordable, simple, rugged bolt gun?
