Finally, another person who is as talented as I am!:cheers: After reading all these posts from people who are dinging the gong at 200-300-400.... yards all day, I was starting to feel a bit depressed.
 
I'll update this post actually.
I hit a 12" by 12" steel tank tread at around 80 meters the other weekend at a local range.
Gun was a Pietta 1873 Clone, 7.5" barrel .38 Spl/.357 Mag
I hit it with a .38 spl cartridge and it knocked it over.
Sitting at a bench resting the revolver on my Jobmate gun bag!

Of course I fired 2 cylinders before I hit it but I hit it alright! :rockOn:

200 yards metallic silhouette targets--357 mag, 41 mag, 44 mag revolvers, 7mmBR single shot pistol. back when I could still see the sights.
Shoot-off targets were chickens on 150 yard or 200 yard rails.

44Bore.
 
Like 44Bore above................200 meter rams were easy with Remington XP in 7BR, Thompson Contender in 3030 Winchester and Dan Wesson in 357 Super Mag. For shoot offs full size chickens at 200 meters got to be routine. Eventually ended up using 22 chickens at 200 meters. Can barely see them through the iron sights at 200 and they were at the limit of the ability of the shooter. 7tcu or 223 necked up to 7mm was very popular in the Thompson Contenders. A lot of specialty cartridges were developed through the years when IHMSA and Elgin Gates were in operation out of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
 
100m with a P226R 9mm in SA shooting, I could hit a 12"x12" about 80% of the time. Its very do able just takes very good trigger control and sight picture.
