What's a CZ 858 worth as parts with a cooked receiver?

I have a 858 that was nitro carburized and now the receiver has yielded where the locking lugs engage. The guy who did the process won't return my attempts at contacting him.
Nice, eh?
Everything is Exc. condition including the bore. What would it be worth as a parts gun?

Who ?

What company ?

I'd say 150-225.

The barrel is pressed in, and can't be removed easily, and re-used. Other parts: bolt and carrier: $70, piston and spring: $30, factory stock, grips and hardware: $60, trigger and internal components: $100, mags: $25 each, bayonet: $30, Mag pouch $25, The name of the company that won't return your communication: priceless.

Im guessing it was Rauch Tactical , he was offering this process some years back on CGN and i guess the heat treating on some guns got messed up causing the receiver to be soft and deform .. I had one done from the first or second batch? It has a round of about 4000 with no signs of deformation on the locking lugs so im guessing its ok ? but it does not really matter cause i sold it to a guy in Canmore anyway ..

To the op the parts you have that were treated also are probably soft too , not really worth trying to recoup any value out of the rifle, even if you found a new receiver its very hard to change a VZ barrel it would cost more to rebarrel than to buy a new rifle .. Can you post pics or the receiver damage and what was the round count ? And who else here has these Raunch rifles ?

Yes, it's a Rausch rifle. I can't seem to get it to upload the pics I have. There was only 600 rds through the rifle since new.

I saw another 858 that had the same deformation the OP is talking about. Definitely not a good thing. OP, don't give up on contacting him yet, leave a message every day and bombard his email with messages. Also, look at taking him to small claims court, providing the business that did the service is still in operation.

maybe you can do one thing , you go in a machine shop , they weld where it need to be and they machine after that , it may the only way to save that gun , and welding is very hard soo it may be probably the best thing to try ...

Did some searching i think Rauch Tactical might be out of business but im pretty sure his CGN user name is RaTa .. There was another thread started by someone that had a ruined Raunch 858 and he posted pics , maybe someone can dig up the link for that thread .. To post pics upload to photobucket then copy and paste the image code to here ..

Here is a pic. Who sells the CSA guns?

Did you try having it heat treated again? Sometimes they can reweld(build up the bad spots) and take it to a company that does heat treating ,motor parts, bearings....etc. Some place that does it everyday.

No, it won't close. I've had a few suggestions on the heat treatment. No one seems to able to provide a number of someone who would undertake this work. I think I'll buy a CSA and have a pile of parts. Too bad, this process has such promise.

Try reading this forum a little more closely; the CSA guns are plagued with problems. So many threads here about 858 issues that I now have NO regrets about selling mine off. Strangely they are still fellated by the peanut gallery as the best red rifle going, blindly in love with the "AK lookalike" that in reality is a piece of junk.

That right there, is some funny stuff. You do realize, that for every bad story, there are 400-500 non-stories. Those are the people who shoot them and love them, feeling no urge to validate their feelings online. Everyone I know personally with a CZ/Csa rifle or three, loves them, myself included. Google any gun, and you will find people who insist they are garbage. Opinions are always based on personal experience, and may not be a valid picture of the whole situation. Sorry you had bad luck, hope I don't.

By the way, one of my Yank buddies insists the Ak-47 is a stinky, inaccurate piece of sh!t, suitable for peasants who don't know any better. He has several, and laughs at my envy.
