Thanks all. There are some stores who do carry the SR22, but they are priced well over $600, and I don't know if they are still using the red book or not, but I suspect many are.

Thanks Luke . I'll attempt that tonight ....I say attempt because I'm an idiot with anything computer and if it's at all possible to screw it up I likely will lol.

Imageshack is another good one.

I experienced the same thing . Went to 4 shops in my area and none had any sr22's . Ended up buying the stainless 10/22 and am in the process of modding it . I thought it would be a giant pain but, just yesterday I bought a ATI kit and despite reading reviews to the contrary , it only took about 40 mins to change it out . Easy peasy . I like the look better than the sr and once my other parts come in the mail it will be just what I wanted . Can hardly wait to get to the range tonight and try it out with the ATI kit ! Cost : 10/22 stainless- $260 , ATI kit- $129 , 2 Steel Lips mags -$52 , TOTAL- $441 . I'm happy with that . Considering the SR and the mags would have been closer to $600 I'm REALLY happy everyone was out of stock !
This is a great little gun ! I've put 500 rounds of dynapoint through it and it's a total hoot . The butler creek steel lips are super easy on the thumb to load and have performed perfectly .
Handled a vtr and didn't like how it shouldered on me ( That's why I like to actually have a gun in my hands before I purchase it ) . The vtr has excellent reviews and I surely would have gotten one if it felt right in hand .
Now I want a bunch of these great little 22s lol

yup i did th exact same thing and after all the debating and looking for the sr22 just said screw it and went the ati route but i am going to be getting the nomad kit at a later date and have a bunch of mods in the works(cash flow) that will look great on both setups. on a different note anyone know if there are any threads on the nc star mark iii with the red dot on hte back was looking but not sure i was searching the fourms correctly

BTW I took it to the range last night and really liked it . The weight is a little more than the original stock and I really like the adjustable butt . I folded it in and emptied a few mags , but my accuracy was crap that way . From a purely aesthetic standpoint , it looks great ( yes I'll add pics as soon as I can ) . frankly I wish that the stock was made without the folding because I'll likely never fold it in again . Overall a good product for that price though .

I'm waiting for an SR22 also. I have my name on the list at my preferred gun store. I'm just going to wait it out though, as I have a few other rifles if I have the need to go shoot some paper.
