What's in the Shop This Week

100y: These are for a long action , I believe the dovetail dimensions on yours will be different. You could send me your rifle and I can do whatever you like, or you could probably get away with sending me sample bases to go off of.

Sako mounts; making chips!

A 'Sako worthy' end result (if I do say so...)

Also did a 6.5CM build on a Stiller Tac30 action this past week.

Along with some helical fluting to give it some class...

I had another busy week, among other things I built that bolt knob for mikeyb...

As always, the possibilities are endless, this one was a variation of the middle/left Cad sample here.

I also did a few brakes...

I love the look of a high gloss, blued finish in the sun light!

I also did this one... Most of the brakes I make are intended to be discrete, yet highly effective, intended for hunting weight rifles.
Every now and then however, I get a request for something "obnoxiously large"...

I'm calling this one the "V8"

With a fourth gill added, and the two sides angled into eachother to create a 30deg Vee; This bad sally should positively arrest both rearward recoil and muzzle rise!

While it would look rediculous on a sporter weight, the effect on a target platform is rather striking!

With the Medicine Hat show and Thanksgiving making for back to back long weekends, It's been long hours and late nights in the shop to keep up.
Here are a couple highlights.

WK180 bolt bushing before...

And after.

I also bushed and fluted this Tikka bolt.

And I am pleased to announce: Remington 700 Long Action rails are now part of my "in stock" line up; both in Stainless and Blued.

Building a business is a never ending "chicken/egg" juggling act of working on jobs for customers to create income/keep the lights on, and developing processes/products/tooling within the business to increase its capability, flexibility and profitability. (If anyone has that balance figured out I'm all ears!)
I dedicated a chunk of last week to the later. These parts are going to be a series of fixtures (along with a custom sub plate) for making Picatinny rails that will allow me to process 8 rails at a time, while maintaining the ability to handle rails for (theoretically) any make/model of firearm and will ease the setup/manufacture of one-off custom rail projects!

"Beast mode" your craftsmanship is drool worthy.

here are those fixtures all finished up!

Unfortunately The only action shot I got of them is this one; a fourth, extra short fixture for doing the last op on these lil guys!

These are 3 1/2" fore-end under rails for bipod/accessory mounting.

Any chance we see the 3 1/2" fore-end under rails in aluminum at any point? I have a Manners hunting stock with odd sling stud spacing that I'd love to replace with one of these.

Its been a busy month between custom jobs, rush jobs for hunting season as well as getting out hunting myself. I am excited to say both stainless and aluminum have arrived for my next production run of Tikka Bottom metal, and chips are starting to fly! I've got quite a few pre-orders for this batch but there's still time to put your name on one!

The chips have been flying!

Half a dozen aluminum orders in the mix really stand out!

The last of the engraving is finished up; Beadblasting, assembly and test fitting is underway! First units are shipping today.

I consider our community exceptionally lucky to have you, Paul. Beautiful work, consistently top-knotch.

Looking forward to progress on the RB once Mr. Kob is available. :) If you want to brag up what you've been doing on that project here, I'm more than happy to allow it.

A re & re for a Mossberg HS12 o/o. Needs bluing/ would like to go to wood stock & fore end, a shell holder like the "rifle" on your website would be nice add if possible . PM when you have a moment. Ty in advance for your time.

Sure thing! PM sent.

This is a fun one! I'm designing/building a custom chassis for one of my good customers.

LOOOOOTS of chips being made, really fast!

For an extra few inches of material, I was able to nest a second part, almost for "free". This is excellent as it gives me a "scrapable test piece" to prove my programs and make adjustments on.

That's some awesome work :)
