What's in the Shop This Week

Here's something a little different, A full set of rear sight blades for an antique target pistol.

This customer contacted fellow owners all through the states getting measurements from their pistols and had me make him a full set. Giving him, hopefully, a lifetime of options for both close range and far!

Ruger007: I get asked this question often enough that I should probably consider it... A self timing brake is a product I've perceived as already being well supported by several manufacturers. Its claim to fame is that a person can install it on the kitchen table and doesn't need to send his rifle into a smith (personally I think a crush washer accomplishes the same thing). What would you like to see in a self timing brake that isn't already readily available?

I guess a crush washer does do a similar job. But I prefer the versatility of the self timing.

At the range I notice that unless the rifle came with a brake installed the auto indexing seems real popular.

A 30 cal with a proper lock nut rather than a knurled nut would be better.

Any ELR 22lr shooters here?
I'm working on developing an Adjustable Picatinny rail with a variety of bottom bases, allowing it to be used across several platforms. This prototype is on a Tikka T1X

This version is adjustable between 0-175MOA in 25MOA increments. Field testing to commence...

I've put a couple more builds through the shop recently.

Also just finished some custom engraved trigger guards for a Barnard action.

The most exciting news(for me anyway) is that I had a custom tool company in South Carolina make me a carbide form tool for contouring Tikka bottom metal!
I'm making another batch of Bottom Metal and got to test it today. Its a beautiful thing! (light years ahead of my shop built, flame hardened version...)

Win 308: I tried! Apparently Canadapost has discontinued their helicopter shipping option... (drats!)

bdb.hunting: That makes two of us! The last of the custom tooling I ordered for your project arrived this past week!
I spent most of yesterday making fixtures for drilling and then this happened last night.

One brand new custom gundrill down the drain! (not a pleasant way to end my Friday)
I've got an email into the maker, Warranty would be great as the solder seems to have failed as soon as it began cutting but either way a new one is required...
