What's in the Shop This Week

This batch of Bottom Metal is just about complete!

Harvesting latches out of what would otherwise be waste material...

A handful of "OP1" latches along with a finished latch for show...

The next great weight loss program complete!

Custom form tool making!

"Hour glass" tool at work...

More or less there!

And, a little bit of engraving to give it some personality.

Next up, final de-burring/bead blasting!

MilitaryCollectorMark: For sure! let me know.

Well I must confess I've dropped the ball here. I'm afraid I don't have any group photos of finished product because I've been finishing and shipping these faster than I've been taking pictures...
This was the last group photo I got, just after engraving, prior to finish work

Here's a pair of them though!

I was also able to install one on this lovely wood stocked T3 just yesterday!

As well as installing a muzzle brake on the same.

Have I mentioned that I do bolt fluting?

I do barrel fluting as well.

This was a factory .22-250 a customer wanted jazzed up and some weight taken off in time for a gopher shoot next weekend.

It definitely adds some character to an otherwise vanilla rig.

Hi Paul, thx for the quick turn around on my T3 for the brake and bottom metal...very happy with your work.

Thanks RJ. I certainly could make self timing brakes if there is interest. My feelings have been that those are already widely available on the target/tactical market with a lot of "brand recognition" in place making it a difficult market to break into. I chose to design my current brakes to fill, what I perceive, as a gap in the market. Namely: a highly effective, low profile brake that is built and bored precisely and true, that is aesthetically pleasing with no sharp edges or burrs and is primarily intended for use on a lightweight hunting rifle.
I'd be happily proven wrong however and would certainly entertain adding such product offerings!

ben777lemay: I can absolutely flute your 595 bolt. I'm currently charging $165+shipping for bolt fluting and can cut any pattern you like.
As to 595 bottom metal, I love custom work and would be happy to discuss particulars with you if you are interested. My email is: pcook338@gmail.com

I'm just de-burring and cleaning up this run of T3 metal. Not gonna lie, its looking pretty slick...

How it "should have" from factory!

I've got a couple extra available from this run if anyone so desires.

Paul machined me up a Floorplate for one of my TIKKA T3s out of Aluminum ! only weights 2.2 oz vs 6.3 oz for a SS one ! Also it is only 1 oz heavier then the plastic one. I transfered my pin and spring from my factory floor plate latch and installed the system into my Wildcat stock ! FIT is PERFECT ! I really Like it compared to the factory POS unit ! Thanks Paul :d

Cheers ;) Jim

Back in the shop from the High Prairie show. It was a great experience, we got to meet lots of new people as well make contacts with some fantastic vendors!
Now, lets get caught up from last week!

Here's a brake I did for a heavy hitter. I look forward to a range report from the owner!

I made a small run of stainless 20MOA Tikka rails. I can also cut custom angles on a built-to-order basis. (same price)

A before and after of a CZ527 bolt bushing job for a member here...

As well as a Rem700 .223 bolt bushing job.

This week looks like its going to be muzzle brakes galore!
Stay tuned...

RancherBriggs: I'd be happy to discuss a bolt fluting project with you. My email is pcook338@gmail.com or send me a PM.

Paul_T: Yours isn't in that photo, but it is done! along with a 30MOA for another gent.
