From what I read, Magpul could not get their insurance company to sign off (or too expensive) for them to become a full gun manufacturer, and therefore could not even sell the 130 that they made (I think they were contracted out), but got permission to give them away.

since an insurance company has the yea or neay wether a compnay has the liability to back any lawsuites or damages caused by said product...
i am ticketed to weld polyethylene pipe including gas lines but my companies insurance agency wont allow us to weld gas line for liability reasons.
