Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

Defenitely my 460 Weatherby Mag, I dont know in the world i bought that rifle guess because the price was good i have absolutely no use for that strong of a rifle but it is a very nive weapon, for the last 5 years i only shot 5 rounds a year, group very good but kick sooo hard... JP.

My 375 H&H double rifle, when it 'doubled" on me. The scope hit my head so hard it sheared off the bases.

I did that with a .500 NE. Interestingly it didn't seem to be any worse than firing a single barrel because the recoil of the first shot is what caused the second barrel to fire, so while there was only a single boom, it was two separate events. The only obvious difference was that the muzzles raised higher in recoil as I hadn't recovered from the recoil of the first barrel when the second fired.

Did you do like me and harp the triggers, or was there a mechanical problem with your rifle?

I have noticed that quite a few say the worst kickers are not the biggest guns. I think the fit of the stock makes a huge difference. Most big, really big guns have good stock design.

This contributed to my hardest kick.

It was a Rem 700 with a synthetic stock, and the guy had made up some spacer between the but pad and stock, so it was way to long for me.

He was out sighting it in, and having all kinds of trouble so he asked if I could help.

So 3 shots later it was all good and right on the money but my shoulder hurt for a couple days.

I had fired a 45/70 and even a 338 Lapua Mag before, but they fit well, and I didn't remember it hurting so much.

Stock fit, light gun and stock, all off a bench = surprising felt recoil.

All of the bigger cartridge/caliber rifles I have shot had muzzle breaks so the recoil wasn't all that bad which leaves me with my shortened to 21" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM it weighs 8lbs when I have my XS Sights tall Weaver back up ghost ring sight mounted I shoot 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps stopped @ 2850fps for 300gr bullets.

The heaviest recoil was with my 350gr TSX @ 2520fps loads reduced the velocities to 2450fps didn't need that kind of recoil to hard to get a fast second shot off...

old boito doubbel barrel 10 ga with the 2 trigger and both barrel went off at the same time ouch and a good bruise on the shoulder 3.5 inch 2.25oz goose load

well when I was 4 my grandfather let me shoot his Fn fal c1a2 32 rnds out of that and when the tripod brought it up to my sholder standing up... That was fun.. I couldnt even pick the gun up it was to heavy and i was shorter then it. My grandfather went hmm your big enough to shoot it lets go before they change the laws about it and we can't.

When I was older a 50 Bmg with the muzzle break off.. it was shoot the first one free (uncle) then if you take the break off you can shoot a second one free.. I went sure why not.. he laughed so hard and said everyone does the second on its worth it everytime..

I was at Orono today and the club president let my shoot his .458 magnum:D I wouldn't say it kicked more than my fabarm pro forces with the 3"magnum slugs but it has a cool factor the shotgun doesn't have. When I looked up the amunition cost of the .458 I figure I owe the guy a case of beer or something:eek:
