Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

Shot an American Derringer Corp derringer pistol in 44mag twice. I have a X shaped scar on my hand from the hammer going through the web between my thumb and trigger finger. The damage was done after the second shot. Extreme recoil. It felt like I was struck in the hand by lightning twice.

Most .50's recoil like a .308 or even less, due to weight and very effective muzzle brakes. Scantly comparable to even a measly .338 Win Mag. :)

Believe I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but shot up to the .458 African cartridges and the nastiest gun I've had was a light .375 Ultra Mag. It was genuinely uncomfortable.

I have not shot a 50bmg, but I have shot a .338 lapua with a break, I thought it was nothing to write home about and immediately compared it to like shooting a .308, funny you mention the .338 win mag, a friend had one out not to long ago and yeah that had some kick to it.

I don't even remember any recoil from when I fired a 50BMG. Although the concussion from the brake might have knocked it out of my memory. :p

I've got a little 7~ pound 20" bbl 30-06 that has a pretty good punch to it on account of the weight. Haven't had the opportunity to get beaten up by anything heavier duty than that though.

Not the hardest-kicking gauge but Federal 3" slugs out of a stock Browning BPS did it for me... Original stock was way too long and high for me, every trigger pull resulted in a bruised shoulder and a serious rap to the cheekbone.

I've done that too, totally forgot about magnum slugs in my BPS. I'd say thanks for reminding me but....HAHAHA

My .450 Rigby, at 9.5 lbs it is on the light side for launching 500 grain solids at 2500 fps. The recoil is not what I would describe as pleasant but thanks to good fit and stock design it is manageable once you get used to it.

oh one time, someone brought out a 10ga SxS, he had a box of old shotshells he just wanted used up and was letting a few of us have our fun, I asked if I could fire both barrels and he agree'd, I did it more then once, figured I wouldn't get another chance to do it, it was good times.

That is real recoil, to be sure. .458 Lott is my personal threshold, and the .450 Rigby recoils a tad more yet than the Lott as I understand it. Neat gun by the way, plenty of .416 Rigby's out there and not many .450's yet, what did you build it on or is it the CZ550 factory offering?

double barrel 10 gauge, both barrels at the same time....buddy dared me to do it when I was about 16, the recoil turned me about 90 degrees to the right.

Nothing crazy so far. 3" magnum slugs in a short 12ga had some punch, as did my buddies .338 win mag. Oddly enough, the 50 BMG I shot wasn't that bad, as the gun was heavy and muzzle brake large.

I fired a 416 Rigby once, stout but survivable. Worst was a tricked out Winchester pump. With a 3 inch 00 Buck load it whipped my head back so hard my neck went "crack". I thought it had permanently damaged me. The guy standing beside me even asked me if I was OK. I've fired a lot of rounds through a lot of guns in 40+ years, never had that happen before.

Worst I've Ever fired was a just a single-shot 20ga. I'd borrowed from a buddy around 20 years ago.
His father had made the stock himself, and a beautiful looking thing it was, too.
Unfortunately, the shape of the stock put every last erg of energy right back into the upper part of the butt.. I don't bruise easily, but two shots from that thing and I had a buttplate-sized bruise on my shoulder for several days.
