Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

A friend's Winchester Mod 70 African in .458 WinMag almost dislocated my shoulder. I fired from a standing position over the hood of my truck with the rifle sitting on top of a couple of boat cushions. I'm a fairly big guy and it moved me back over a foot. My hat spun around backwards (way back before it was cool),my glasses went all wonky and the other two guys were rolling in the dirt laughing. I actually put the round in the bullseye at 100M,but,no more big magnums for me.
 
I was probably 7 or 8, friend's older brother had a 10 gauge blackpowder double barrel. I was eager to shoot it, so he took us out instructed me to point it and pull both triggers at the same time. Nowadays he would of course have been shooting an amusing video. Anyway, I did remain standing, but I think maybe I ended up facing the other way after shooting. I remember I was quite bewildered anyway, probably got hit in the face by the thing. Never asked that arsehole for another favour either.
 
A few come to mind
Kel-tec KSG with 3" loads, i fired 3 rounds and that was enough
458 winchester magnum, only got one shot but it was incredible!
The worst a cooey 84 that i thought would be cool to cut the barrel down to 20 inches in my youth.
Turned out it wasnt that cool after all.

I showed up late for the party one day and a buddy of mine was trying to persuade a dozen guys to shoot a .585 Nyati that an old gunsmith friend of his had built, he had told them it had the recoil of 10 30-06s put together. He handed it to me and told 3 things, lean into her, lock my body, and for Fsakes hang onto her. I'm 6', 270lbs, a little bigger then average sized guy and an fairly good shooter. Off hand I squeezed the trigger there was no holding her down, muzzle was pointing at the sky, It rocked me back hard and I swear the old combine I shot at moved a few inches as it left an inch sized hole in it. After seeing it rock me nobody was defiantly going to step up for a shot. I thumbed one more Cuban cigar sized round into the beast and squeezed of one more rnd, you couldn't scratch my smile off with a stick, Awsome rifle I'm glad I had the chance to fire it. .50 Cal. Never came close.

Yup, I did multiple shots in 1 day from a bench to sight one in... 5'9 and 250 was no match for a 750gn bronze solid in the 585 (cape buffalo in swahili) Never again.. makes a BMG feel tame.
 
i took my 300WSM out to the range today to make sure it was still sighted in.
i havnt shot it in a couple years.
i forgot just how much that gun kicks.

while not a 50 or a 338 that 300WSM packs a punch.
i was fine for the first 20 rounds.
then my shoulder started to get sore.
by the time i rounded 40 i was really not having fun but i had 50 rounds and i wanted to get in some trigger time with the gun so i forced myself to shoot them all.

now i wont admit this if im ever asked but i may have closed my eyes on one or 2 of the shots (a little anticipation pain reflex me thinks)
nothing worse then your spotter telling you your shot was "wayyyy off" and giving some lame "the wind gussed up there, didnt ya feel it?"

even now i just rolled up my shirt and my shoulder has a faint bruise to it.
at least i know its ready to go for the next hunt.... you may hear me wimper softly to myself before i shoot but ill get that meat on the table!

What rifle?? Weight plays a huge role. I can't imagine something like a .300WSM, or worse yet a WM, in a 4.5-6 lb carbon stocked "mountain rifle". I often think it's all well and good to have a ultra light gun capable of hitting the boiler room of a sheep at 900yds across a mountain valley, but if you're scared of the damn thing you're not gonna be very accurate!!!

I swear that our T3 lite in .308 are the most abusive rifles in our gun room - and that includes a .300WSM and a .338LM.
 
Actually hard to say really, there's a few that still stand out in my mind. These are one's I've fired only once lol
One was a 3" 12ga single shot (unsure of the make I think it was a CIL) with a 14.5" barrel. One shell of 12ga 3" buckshot was enough through that. It was punishing!
Another was a very light Remington pump gun in .30-06 (again a friends gun I tried on the range). It was the angle of the stock as well on that one. The rifle weighed about 4 lbs lol
Also if anyone on here has ever shot a Mosin Carbine from the bench sitting down with a 180gr projectile......yeah.

Seems like it's not the cartridge they shoot so much as the weight of the rifle and the design of the butt/stock that bring the pain.
