Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

I haven't really fired anything i would consider bad recoil. a few years ago when i was much littler i found every centerfire to be heavy kicking but i also was 120 pounds and 14. I would psyche my self out thinking that the gun would kick to hard and then when i fired it , it wasn't to bad. Now that im older and bigger i find all of these guns that i thought were bad to be really not hard kicking at all. Thankfully for me i have sort of gotten over thinking of recoil. But anyways i think the heaviest load i have fired was a 320 grain 45-70 lever evolution round. I wouldn't consider that a hard kicking gun though.

3inch magnum slug with one of those butler creek folding stocks. They have far less surface area for your shoulder. With that said I was only able to fire about 30 rounds before I had to switch to my other shoulder. I was only able to do about 15 rounds that way. Carrying home my gun case was interesting for sure that day.

Only two things that really hurt; 3-1/2" 1-3/8oz BB's, at a speck, let the gun slip off the shoulder onto shoulder muscle when going up & over to my right, that HURT.
Other was shooting prone with the 7-08, scoped myself, only time I've done that.
I've shot up to 505Gibbs, none of those hurt, they got my attention, but no pain involved.

A cheap CVA Muzzleloader (Staghorn) w/ Tupperware stock, 120 gr T7, 400 grain PRBullet conical.

Hurt more than the 50 bmg.

well the most uncomfortibal i gun i shoot is my 30-06. its a parker hale with a boyds stock it just gives a sharp pain in the arm. its a hunting gun so not worried about it. my NEF pardner 12 gauge with 3"mag 000buck gives a good solid thump but can shoot it all day. shot a firends X-bold 300wm and its as just a pleasure to shoot prone on a bi-pod.

A Remington 375 Ultramag with handloads a friend owned. Kicks like a mule. Two of my friends have now owned the rifle I'm am next in line to own it. Picking it up tommorow night.

I like to think Im a bit smarter, so I'm pulling off the 375 UltraMag barrel and rebarreling to a braked 338 Edge.

If you own an UltraMag of any sorts right now and want to punish yourself with a 375, let me know. Barrel is going to be for sale!

Ruger #3 in 45-70 with hot loaded 405's (1600+ fps). Two shots off the bench and I went home. Shoulder wasn't right for about a week.

I hear you on that #3 had mine loaded approx 2000 fps made your eyes water when you pulled the trigger. That steel butt plate sure hit the shoulder hard it was worse than the 460 Weatherby I had

Old single barrel 10 gauge with 00Buck my friends granddaddy had...He didn't call it the howitzer for nothin! I was 12 years old I landed on my back, skip ass straight to back!

FN C1A1, and my shoulder hurt like hell the next day. Mind you, I was only 16, weighed only 125 pounds, and was only wearing an olive drab T-shirt. Got to fire 60 rounds and thought it was the most amazing thing ever... until I woke up the next morning and could barley rotate my shoulder. lol

As an Army Cadet, I got to fire FNs and Lee-Enfields at the long-distance range at CFB Gagetown on a few occasions, as well as Lee-Enfields that were down-chambered to .22 caliber at our armory's indoor range in Sussex damn near every weekend... AND we fired at "Herman the German" targets. Army Cadets are now limited to firing air rifles at bullseyes. So stupid.

On further thought, the .458 Lott left the biggest impression. 500 grain loads at 2300 fps. Four rounds and I had a flinch I'm still not completely over. That cartridge really belts you. It makes the .375 H&H feel pleasant. I think my recoil tolerance threshold is probably .375H&H.
