What's the latest on the CZ 858?

Will we be seeing anymore in the near future? :confused:

I talked to one shop and they said the 858's are on hold for the time being and they were unsure if they were going to be reclassified! I hope that's not the case (as I want to pick one up this year) assuming it remains non restricted.

Has anyone heard anything new on why the hold up with importing them and when it may (or not) end? It seems like no one in Canada has them in stock right now.

wolverine have a big shipment retained by the custom for a moment , every gun in Canada is being reclassified ... the day the lib/ndp take the power and i hope that day never come
 
I don't see any 858's in stock anywhere but I do see a lot of CSA Sa vz 58 Sporters on the shelves. Even the wholesale sports here has them in .223 and 7.62. Just got to remember the 858's are made from new, old stock surplus parts so once they run out, the rifle is done and the only option is a CSA. I've heard that a wrong shipment of full auto Vz 58s were shipped to Canada from CZUB by mistake and the 858's we were suppose to get went to someone else who ordered the full auto Vz 58's and they're trying to get it all sorted out.
 
Wow, that's one he'll of a mistake!

Hopefully it all gets sorted out and the stores get restocked with non restricted 858's. Any idea on how long they have been held up?
 
Ya, your probably right.

Hopefuly the conservatives get thier act together and turn things around before the next federal election.
 
Sigh... Makes me wonder if we should have just kept the registry, keep the liberals happy, maybe there would have been none of this reclassification shiat.

Seems like things are actually going to get worse as opposed to better for us.

I'm voting conservative, not too happy about them either lots of fraud and white collar criminals in there, but what else is there...

No, seriously, if we have enough responsible gun owners standing together we set the tone. As long as we stand divided they will erode away our rights 1 by 1. They already tried to ban or restrict most "scary" rifles so we need to protect what we still got. Buy CZ 858/VZ58, Tavor, Kriss Vector, Swiss Arms and tell the anti's to shove it!

Gun owners are the canary in the coal mine when it comes to measuring your freedoms.

Think about that. The M1 Carbine(restricted in original form) and STG44(prohib) are some WW2 milsurps. Like Fenceline says, it's a fine line......and they always want to move that fine line back.

They are the lesser of all the evils we have...not really much of a choice at the moment unfortunately.
