What's the latest on the M+M M10X?

Sounds about right. Every sponsor that jumps on this bandwagon looks foolish to me. Just my opinion of course. Much respect to Canada ammo for calling a spade a spade and washing their hands of this rifle. The rest won’t see my money.
YUP.. My exact thoughts.. As I'm looking at dealers having a presale at $1999.00

And if Chemist is to be believed, the pre-sales are selling very well. Which means that all of the principled abstainers amount to diddly-squat in terms of "sending a message", let alone market share....

Well, I hope that the guys who pre-order get a decent rifle some day but I'm with the abstainers and won't be supporting M+M no matter how shiny their new toy is. It may not put them out of business or send much of a message but every person who would have otherwise bought their rifle that now refuses to buy is affecting the success of M+M, maybe just a little but it all adds up to lost sales and reduces their ability to subsidize their weak US sales with our money which will not make their investors as happy.
Some open and honest communication from them would go a long way towards smoothing this over but after what has been seen so far I don't know if anyone would believe a word they say.

In the end it's just another x39 bullet hose and there are plenty of them on the market already for less money that do exactly the same job and also leave enough money in your pocket for a couple crates of ammo.

There's enough of us to send a message. Maybe even dodged a bullet....
Hopefully it is a good rifle for those who get one. I'm guessing a few hundred hit the market and then m+m will fade away.

It's kind of like the anti NEA threads that used to pop up. Every time someone started one sales went thru the roof.

Wanstalls made a mistake with what they believed was the pricing structure. They started the pre-sale with the only belief that they would get direct distribution pricing from M+M, but no actual price was provided.

M+M came out from the very beginning stating they had NOT set the Canadian MSRP. That led to the post by M+M that you posted earlier. The Wanstalls pre-order price was lower than the US MSRP at that time. M+M basically gave Wanstalls the green light to sell their rifles for below Manufacturer Approved Pricing, in order to keep the pre-orders... but told Wanstalls to go through North Sylva to get them... meaning Wanstalls would eat the loss.

I posted this rough timeline previously of what went down:
I suggest you talk to M+M like I did

Well some have no problem doing business with known liars and backstabbers :D

I did.

Do tell what they told you?

Why don't you both tell the rest of us? Is it some top secret information that they only tell people that email them? You're then sworn to secrecy?

I don't understand why no one with first hand information is so unwilling to share that information. Wouldn't want to betray the fine upstanding gentlemen and M+M who have never screwed anyone over to get a better price for their rifle. Yup, they deserve your loyalty.
Maybe we're all wrong about them but unless someone is willing to share some real information we'll just keep on guessing based on the little bit of info we have.

I have told my side of the story, re-read my posts. I have spoken to both Wanstalls and M+M directly. I am posting what I believe to be true based on these conversations coupled with the other posts by Can Am and Wanstalls.

I've read all the posts in all the threads about these rifles, can't remember specific posts from anyone and can't be bothered anymore, I kinda thought it was new info you and Bartok were talking about.
My opinion of M+M has been set now and I won't be supporting them by buying one of their rifles at any price. If they were to come out with a public statement that made sense and was backed by some of the retailers involved in this like CA and WS I may change my mind about them but it all just looks like dirty business by M+M chasing the highest bidder and walking away from verbal agreements they had with the retailers. Mistakes were made on both sides of the border and in the end the consumer get screwed the most (Wanstalls may have gotten screwed but they brought it on themselves with the pre-sale price they released without having a definite price from the manufacturer).

I'd really like to see an end to all the pre-sale stuff, people just get way to excited about a rifle that may not show up for a year or two, too much can change while waiting on an FRT, import, customs, and retailers. When the firearm is in the country and headed to the retailers is when we should be putting our money down, paying a year in advance then hoping that nothing bad happens along the way is silly.

So NS closed the other thread and asked people to call them directly. Why is this so secretive? Who's who of gag orders? All this crap went down in public, but it can't be clarified in public? You may have a good rep, but trust only goes so far. Not in this case, I'v seen too much BS.

Please urge NS or M+M to clarify.

I can understand companies not wanting to air dirty laundry in public, but M+M made some very degrading public statements, and has questionable marketing.

I think vendors are not speaking to avoid legal issues, and disclosing information that may not be in favorable light. Honesty goes a long way though, not silence or snarky remarks - this is something many of us do not forget, or so I think.

You put yourself in the middle by making statements on this thread, I assume you would like to be part of the conversation. Again, please urge NS and M+M to make a personal and respectful response, if even just on this forum.

We may be a small population compared to their possible sales figures - I doubt this would have been the same in another market where there was actual 'gun media'. This kind of (apparent) scandal can sink businesses, and given US sales, and M+M's comments, I think they need the Canadian market to be a success.

It's kind of like the anti NEA threads that used to pop up. Every time someone started one sales went thru the roof.

This is not fair, and I take offense to it.

I don't give a crap about all this hostility over this deal. It is whatever it is and I'm just happy to see another modern 7.62x39 option on the table.

I started this thread innocently in hopes that someone could point me toward a better price than is being offered by SFRC, yet nobody has. Just ranting and ranting and accusations of my motivations.

I would like to get a modern 7.62x39 rifle with a monolithic rail and options are limited. Besides the M+M there's Robinson Arms for even more money. So that's no place to go.

I just don't see other options here.

Am I missing something? Is there some better rifle out there that is not restricted that I am not aware of?

The rifle isn't even here yet and the few offering it are all at the same price. Where's the confusion in that ?

Indeed. "Oh Sh*t Wrong screen name" The plot thickens...

No Plot thickening here... I'm no longer using BadAsMo and created Practical Tactical to coincide with my YouTube name. I logged in as BadAsMo to copy the information from an ad I had posted in EE that I will be moving to my new account and then forgot I was still logged in. As far as I'm concerned CGN can kill that BadAsMo account.
