What's the most useless caliber

not tech. a caliber I guess but the 16 gauge has always seemed completly pointless to me.with the 20's & the 12's they have now I can't see the 16 around long.If I had to pick a "most usless cal." it would be the 303 savage.

If you want to talk shotguns, the .410 has got to be the most useless calibre.

I have a very 'inexpensive' 410 Ranger single shot that sits on the dash of the truck when I on Moose trips. Coming back to camp after the days Moose hunt it's accounted for a lot of ditch chickens for camp meat.

well ive shot more grouse with a .410 than anything else and to the guy that said .308 get your head out of your ass lol but out of all these pages i cant beleive no one said the 8mm mauser it has to be the most useless cartridge out there

I have a over under .410 /.22 that has given me a lot of grouse & rabbits.+ the .410 fit in my 45/70 guide gun.
I still say the 16.like everything else it comes down to personal perspective I guess.

Gimme the .22LR, .223, .243, 30/06 and 50BMG(strictly for entertainment). And you can keep the rest.

223

Underperformed / overpopulated for no reason. You can not hunt with that and can't go to defend anything solely based on 223. Vietnam was lost basically due to this and see the guys in Iraq now carrying M1 Gerand for back-ups - Biggs

Edit: Expected it

Hmm... It's a 'Garand', and no they're not using them in Iraq. Had no effect on Vietnam, in fact I bet the 5.56 helped in that conflict.

Carrying Garands in Iraq. Hmmmmm...... news for sure.

The 556NATO aka 223REM will survive many years into the future. A great varmit round and reliable easy to shoot Service round. I like the 762 as well ,but the poodle gun will not disappear anytime soon.

For a selection of calibers to remove, select any new short Mag and click delete.

.223 is an awesome target & varmint round. Cheap and effective for target shooting out to 300 yards & any varmint up to wolf & coyote. For the money, it's the best round out there.

I suppose a .410 would have it's merit, if shot out the window of a truck, at birds 10 feet away. But I'll leave that to the hillbillies!lol.
