What's the most useless caliber

I don't have much interest in most Weatherbys or RUM cartridges, WSSM's looked like an interesting idea, but why really bother?

The .375 H&H is now obsolete, but lots of guys use lots of obsolete cartridges and seem quite pleased with themselves for doing so.

I HATE the 25 WSSM, and the chasis it arrived in the m70 SUper Shadow. I've had a couple of them and the QC was abysmal. The 25 was deadly accurate, but couldn't cycle a round after firing half the time. As well, why not just make a 25 WSM??

SO, I will, eventually. GOt the barrel and reamer, just need a WSM Rem 700 or an Abolt donor.

JT.

Simple math.....Stick to the most available and or NATO calibre's.

5.56X45, 7.62X39, 7.62X51, 9X19 parabellum, .45 ACP, 50 BMG, 12 Gauge.

No one can deny the .22

It's also a very effective calibre and probably the least expensive ammo to buy.....
IMHO boring! I have a wildcat that allows me to utilize any discarded H&H Magnum brass, (with conversion dies) so I can spend more money on bullets, primers & powder.
I also have a 20 gauge O/U that's the bee's knees for upland game, and a Browning 22 Hornet that may be the perfect woods wandering varmint/small game rifle. And a nice 356 for any big game animal I can tag in North-Eastern Alberta.

Variety is the spice of life ;)

There is nothing I can't get with the good old 22lr it is the only caliber I cannot get along without.
The problem is I want to try and own them all regardless of make or model rifle. I have way too many 22lr love them im sick hahaha!
I like all caliber's until you get into the expensive ammunition than I lose interest.
I never buy the rifle till I look at the cost of ammo.
I have better things to spend money on than expensive ammo. Maybe a 22 rifle I am hopeless LOL!

.22lr, .303 brit, 12 gauge... everything else is redundant, to me anyways. Not saying other calibers arent fun and equally effective or more so, just redundant.

Seriously though, i think .17hmr, .444 marlin, and .32 special are about as useless as they get. The .17 for reasons already stated, .444 because 45/70 and 450 marlin are just better (IMHO), and .32 special because it's clearly inferior to even the 30-30 but serves the same purpose.

And then there is the 218 bee, 219 zipper, 222 remington... all should be scrapped.

I have to say it all the short magnum are not useless but do duplicate already existing calibers kind of trying to create a need. No short magnum can make you a better shooter it is all a marketing thing , i hear my friend say since i got my 300 WSM i did not lose a moose, i asked him how many did you lose with your old 300 mag and he say none i think and actually out of the 20 mooses he shot he never lost one, cost a thousand dollars just to add WSM did not change nothing in his hunting... Marketing work... JP.

I dont know, regular .22long are pointless but .22 cb longs sure are quiet and take my .22 down a notch to pellet gun volume. Makes shooting moles, rabbits, and ravens much less conspicuous. Serves a big time purpose for me and is one of the reasons i consider the .22 so versatile.

Any of the new super short watchamagonahave guys shoot at the range or ask me about at work. the guy's been killing deer on a yearly basis but thinks he needs to have a shorter action so he won't risk shortstroking the bolt.

I have no need for what I don't have and I have a 30-30 a .22 a .303 a .223 and a 308 for varmint a 7x57 for deer and moose and for everything else there's Master-card

If you feel the need to have it then it's not useless is it??
