what's the most useless gun ever

A 22wmr with a smooth bore for bird shot. I had it drilled out and a sleeve with rifling installed so I could shoot something bigger than butterflies.

This is from urbaneddy,

anything in .22 short, it's like a BB gun.

Oh dear, oh dear. Is this what all the magnum talk has done? The 22 short is probably the most useful of all 22 ammunition! Until about 60 years ago our northern bush, in particular in BC, was laced with men who lived in the bush full time. Trappers, prospectors, in particular. Everyone of them had a 22 rifle, usually a light single shot and everyone of them used 22 shorts.
They depended on these rifles for food in the bush and do you think they all would have "useless" ammunition?
Have yu heard the true story of the elderly Indian in Alberta lady that killed a record size grizzly bear with a 22? If you have, you will know that the ammunition was a 22 short. (She said she just waited until its head was turned sideways, then she shot it in the ear.)
On small game like rabbits, grouse, ptarmigan, squirrels, etc, a 22 short is actually more effective, on a body hit, than is a 22 long rifle.
Try it. There is a good chance a grouse shot through the body with a long rifle, will fly away, before it dies. A grouse hit in the body with a short, will likely fall over right on the spot.

the most uselss gun is the one you hold in your hand but left the cartridges at home our in the truck.

My uncle once stated that the most useless gun ever was a 300 Weatherby Magnum that he took on a guided sheep hunt in Northern B.C. The bolt was at home in his gun safe....

In 2008 "Winchester" brought back the 1300 pump action. I rushed to the shop to see it for myself. Made in Turkey was proudly stamped on the barrel. I declined to buy it. Also, the "Weatherby" PA-08 Upland is made in Turkey as well. The fit and finish was fine, but seeing such an iconic piece of american history defeated like that...was heartbreaking.

They make the CZ upland guns in Turkey too.
They are very highly regarded.

Turkish guns are considered to be up to european standards now.

You still won't catch me buying a Escort or Hatsan. I've seen to many terrible quality control incidences.

Something I don't have a use for....

Rem 710..... And too expensive for tomato stakes.... :p

I owned the most useless gun ever.

American Arms, deringer, 2 shot, caliber .44 Mag.

Absolutely the most ignorant thing I ever fired. Not only was it painful, but it frequently tore up the web of your hand, between the thumb and index finger.

I even made up a special load for it. .38 caliber zinc bullet, same shape and size as a 148 gr., .38 full wadcutter, but only 100 grains. That was put into a .44 sabot and stuffed into a .44 Mag case with lots of WW296 powder. I think it was about 31 grains. Out of my .44 Mag Smith the recoil was like a wet fart, but it still was substantial recoil in the deringer.

I think anything "tactical" unless you are in the military or a cop is kind of stupid. Just like the "Tactical" pants everyone wears when they fire the "tactical" guns at the range littering empty brass all over the place.

Actually, the matte finishes are great for hunting. The picatinny rails mean that you can swap scopes from gun to gun with ease. This means I can bench a gun with a Bushnell 8-32x40 and then mount a compact 4x for short range hunting, or even a dot sight.

No point in condemning other shooters for something that amounts to little more than fashion, seeing as they fire the same firearms designs as people with wood stocks.

Though I agree that some overdo it!

Could never see the reason for the M1 Carbine, useless round and a 'plumbers nightmare' build.

the reason for the creation of the m1 was that it took 1/4 of the time to train than pistols.
it was intended to be distributed among support troops.(engineers truck drivers medics ect) it was lighter than a garand had more ammo capacity and did not have that bloody "ping" that told the whole world your out!

they also made ones with folding stocks for paratroopers and spec forces.

......to those who dare nock the norc 1911 45 and m14.... i geuss you like paying out the @$$ for things. i owned a norc 1911 they are great guns! no there not as smooth as a sti 1911 off the shelf but. sti=1-2g norc...350.
with all that moola you save you can make your norc into a peice of art like no other and still come out paying less.:p

to all you naysayers of norc. i say... your jelous cuz i got a better deal:D:nest::owned::cheers:

Not really a hunting and sporting gun but I hate handguns. Wouldnt bother me one bit if they were wiped off the face of the earth and replaced with bolt actions.

wouldnt bother me if your bolt actions went the way of the dinosaurs... sooo slooooooooooow and 90%right handed... oh look im a lefty! its as useless as a third tit on a rectum!

dont nock my sport i wont nock yours. we are gun owners sir! we must band together it is that mentality exactly that got c-68 passed!
