Whats the story on the 9.3X62 in Canada?

I got one for a left handed friend a while ago and I worked it over for him, loaded up a batch with Privi brass and Privi 285 gr and tested it out.

I really liked it as a proper weight, nice handling rifle, especially in a lefty.

I think you will as well.

It fits me well, I have long arms for a fella that's 5'10" I'm not streaching for the trigger and the shape of the stock welds well and naturally. I can't wait to get out Saturday to try it out. When you cleaned years did you disassemble the bolt as well?

Freakin' bunch of knuckle draggers :runaway: :p

I thought I had long arms too. Well I'm glad it fits someone! I still haven't bought a scope yet for it so she sits in the corner and sulks. I did buy bases for it though so she cheered up for a day or so.

No I didn't completely disassemble the bolt when I did my initial cleaning. I scrubbed it a lot with a toothbrush and lubbed the exterior with G96. Hope that was the right thing to do.

I ordered bases and rings for mine they should be here today, but I'm unsure if im going to scope it or not. I have an old 4x32 laying around but I dont have any un scoped open sighted rifles. I may have to get another in .375 H&H so I can scope one haha

I'm glad to here there is another 9.3x62 in NS. I recently picked up an older Husky and my reloading components arrived yesterday. I hope to get out for a first try over the next couple weeks. Your new rifle looks great.

Take the bolt apart and clean it off with brake/carb cleaner then lube the spring with powdered graphite. A dab of grease on the rear of the lugs and dry the rest of the bolt off.

I'm not into reloading as of yet so I have to order ammo in, I'm kicking myself for not ordering more than 40 rounds.

Since my last move, most of my reloading gear has not been set up however I can still do some. I'm in the Halifax area and if you want to send me a pm I may be able to help you with reloads. Save your brass and let us know how your first shots go. I'm concentrating on the 270 grain Speer and cast bullets for starters as they should handle a black bear, white tail or target practice nicely.

Where do you shoot?

I already have a .338 Win. Mag. and a 375 H&H. I was debating about getting a 9.3x62 but I hear the cheaper M98 guns are a little rough, and the more expensive one's in this caliber either have a short barrel or are really pricey. Maybe I'll consider a .376 Steyr instead.
