What makes you highly doubt their ipsc shooters
Not every range has a BS holster course policy. Lots of people holster their gun despite not being in IPSC/IDPA. Depends on your range or province I guess.
With regards to post #1:
Is it then illegal to practice (obviously with a Cnadian legal/ empty / dummy cartridges? pistol/revolver while in the safety and confinement of a basement? I would be worried if the people standing next to me on the range only practice when they are on the range. Is this why I see so many "finger on trigger" while on the range when the firearm is not aimed at a legal target? At least you should carry and operate drills and other tools with your finger "in register", i.e. above and away from the "trigger". After all, this is now second nature and permanent muscle memmory, or it should be!
What worries me even more is that some LEO's only handle a firearm when they holster it first thing when going on a shift, or when they qualify once (every 6 months???) a year? If they cannot even protect themselves, how are they going to protect us?
.
Scars from holster wear on a handgun (including revolvers; obviously you also train holster use with a revolver if you own one???) is less serious than scars on the skin by ND (negligent discharge) or friendly or hostile fire. Blueing is cheap enough, or go stainless steel and just polish!
All the local ranges in Ottawa, for the most part, REQUIRE Holster carry for the reason stated above - to prevent theft by some @sshat when you are downrange changing targets. Makes sense to me.
Any of my higher-milage guns end up with holster wear. I rather like it, it makes them look loved and cared for. Like the old faded/worn leather belt your wife wishes you'd throw away.
Perfectly legal to have a holstered unloaded firearm on you at home. In fact since you likely spent thousands of dollars buying handguns, why wouldn't you want to enjoy them at home?
so yours have streak marks

I ccw most days regardless of the law. Sometimes two guns. Like others I too belong to a range that treats me like an adult and permits holster use. And unlike many here I use my guns like the tools they are not some form of shrine to polish and photograph.

Eta: I should probably add that the first statement isn't entirely true for those who are uncomfortable with such topics/actions/freedoms. I ccw 5 days a week and sling a long gun on the other two.
I just don't understand why anyone would go full retard and post something like that.

Question is why not? Plenty of law abiding and non law abiding carry firearms everyday. I don't see a problem with mass random shootings do you? Why do I need someones permission to carry a tool for defending myself? The PM has armed security is he anymore important than you or I?

I am hereby nominating your previous post for inclusion on Off Topics prestigious "Dumbest Post of the Year" thread.
