Im amazed at the amount of stuff people are selling on EE for more than current sale prices at many of the sponsor stores. Sheesh - I understand that when you purchased the item you paid top dollar but it aint worth it anymore. The value "should" be based upon current prices, not what you paid when you just had to have the "newest latest greatest" when it first came out. Now if you find some sucker who doesnt do their research first to buy it .. well good for you .. okay Im done my rant :HR:

Some people don't know about recent sales, and some are trying to make money.

There were a couple of ads selling Marlin 1985M rifles in .450 marlin recently, and based on their prices, I'm pretty sure the sellers didn't know these rifles were just on sale at Cabelas for $399, brand new. Same with guys selling Axis combos for $40 more than new sale prices at some big retailers. Sometimes people buy something at their local Can Tire (or whatever) and get screwed and then think they are asking fair price. My local Can Tire is selling run-of-the-mill Russian SKS's for $380, and Stevens 200's for $480. Well, at least they're TRYING to sell them...

I know what you mean! If just doesn't make sense to list something when your price is so far out to lunch. I'm not one to rant about it but sometimes its too much. I just laugh and move on.

As you can see from my trader rating - in the last year I have bought and sold abit . I have bought some GREAT deals - REALLY GREAT PRICES , and I bought some thing for close to or at full retail. In one instance I bought a BSEV savage and the ammo for $20 under retail - why ? because i wanted it and was going to pay retail + TAX's - so in essence I did save some hard earned $$
Also sold some thing cheap and some close to retail depending on the markets demand and how bad I need the $$ for a new toy.

in short - don't let the door hit you on the way out of EE ** sellers are NOT going to lower the price for you just because you complained in a thred **

lots of CGN'r with trader ratings in the 100's like myself so guess there are some great deals out there

I for one am glad to pay more for an item from a fellow CGN'er. I feel like I've done something to help someone out, financially.
Hey Archie .. you are my kind of CGNer ... I have a few guns and scopes I would like to sell, and if you are willing to help me out by paying a few hundred bucks more than current sales prices that would really help me out on my next purchase :D

The Endowment Effect: The value of a good increases when it becomes a part of a persons endowment. The person demands more to give up an object then they would be willing to pay to acquire it.

More generally, people unconsciously excuse their behaviour (not matter how stupid or destructive).
If you paid $1000 for something, it must be worth at least that or you must be a moron.
And you can't be a moron, can you?

If you beat the suspect to a pulp, he must be the bad person.
Because you can't be a bad person, right?

Not asking anyone to lower their price ( and I have got some good deals also) , I would think that sellers would do a bit of research before posting an item at $300 more than current prices .. okay ..Its been a long week and I haven't ranted about anything all week ...it was either here or at my wife ... this is much safer and I feel better now :D

I thank everyone I have dealt / meet on CGN , and all the info I learned.

I second this... Bean is a good ee guy... Was interested in a couple of scopes he had but lack of funds in hand procluded the deal...

Bottom line is you buy or ignore... No reason to whine... I have done well over the last couple of months getting what I need and selling or trading what I don't...

I could not live without CGN no more, someday it is the english version of La P'tite Vie... Cheers. Mes vous autres. JP.
