The current favorites seem to be the oldies, in my safe anyway. My stash consist of or is in the process of:
7x57
30-06
300H&H
38-55

Hope to have a 338-06 again someday, or another 375 H&H.
It's too hard for a gunnut to use just one.

I've only ever taken deer with .30-30, .30-06 and a couple with 7.62x39, overall I like the .30-06 best for accuracy and knockdown power. I just picked up a nice Nagant M44 carbine and I'd like to try taking a deer or two with it this year, although I probably won't be able to tell the difference between 7.62x54R and .30-06 (and I'm sure the deer sure won't be able to tell the difference!), at least as far as performance is concerned. I'd also like to try a smaller caliber like .25-06 or 7mm-08, or even .22-250. My grandpa used to take deer all the time with his .222, so I'm sure .22-250 would do the job  First thing's first though...

Um, let's see:

- Win Model 70 XTR in .270 Win for deer
- pre-81 BLR in .358 Win for moose in thicker areas
- Tikka M695 in 300WM for moose (or anything) at longer range
- Stevens 200 in .223 for varmints

That might all change after this season as I've got a few others in the lockers... :D

come on guys you cant forget the 303
Hahaha! Lol! I forgot I have one of those in a sporter. It's a BSA barreled action dated 1917 in a very nice stock. I gotta scope that thing and check it out. (The sights are removed and a Parker Hale scope mount has been installed - I bought it that way... and paid too much for it... :p )
