What's your 2020 Big Game plan?

Being forced into being just a "sustenance" hunter in my own yard more or less, the past 1/2 dozen deer have (all except one) been taken with old "vintage" 1870-1890's circa rifles...but this year I may just be forced to try something new...seeing as my homebuilt, previously unrestricted, "canon" usage has been outlawed "except for sustenance" hunting, I may just load that up and have it ready if anything presents itself to eat.

Mine don't change much from year to year
archery deer in October
rifle deer 1st week of November
controlled hunt deer 1st week of December
Maybe a moose hunt if one of us wins the lottery by drawing a tag otherwise it'll turn into a grouse hunt for a few days in October

This is pretty much identical to my plans.

Three of us lucked into a B.C. interior moose leh draw with two tags for any bull sept 10-30
I feel like this is a good opportunity for the group to show that stag 10s and other ar10 platforms are beyond the perfect rifle for the job!!

I'll load up the ghuns, ammo and a lunch.
Always pack a friend in for conversation.
Drive about the woods a bit at the slowest speed possible.
Enjoy the fresh air,
And wonderful smell of decaying leaves.
Bill a kettle. (NB thing)
Drink King Cole tea.(NB thing)
Shoot the odd birch chicken.
Stop at a safe backstop, empty a mag or two.
And just really enjoy it all.
Get home about dark.
Tell my wife I love her.
I sure like the fall

Black bear Sept 3-4 days max, rifle
Whitetail Oct bow, 8pt or more, or will take a 6 if it is big bodied.
Whitetail 2nd tag will be doe only... usually fill that tag easily.
Whitetail Nov rifle group hunt, Dec bow if any tags are left.

Pretty straight forward thread! As draw results are coming out and plans trying to solidify with the "re-opening" of the country, what are you planning on hunting in 2020?

I'll start:
Saskatchewan - Spring Black Bear was a success with a big ol' boar (21 7/16);
Saskatchewan - Draw Either-### Mule deer;
Saskatchewan - OTC Whitetail;
Saskatchewan - OTC Elk;
Saskatchewan - Honkers;

Montana - Draw General Deer;
Montana - General Elk + Permit (didn't draw permit so turned in my Gen tag);
Montana - Antelope (still waiting on results);

Wyoming - Draw General Deer;
Wyoming - Draw Either-### Antelope;
Wyoming - 2x Draw Doe/Fawn Antelope;

Idaho - Draw Elk (didn't draw);
Idaho - Draw Antelope (didn't draw); and

Manitoba - OTC Whitetail (in case the border doesn't open in time).

Obviously, still waiting on the border to open up and hoping it does, in time, and without any isolation period...

Do you have a normal hunting season? Or is everything a draw? My plan this year is to hunt a woodland Buffalo. After that I'll be good for meat, so probably nothing else..

My buddy, his son and I drew antlerless elk tags for one of the prairie zones in AB, I'm hoping that my 270 WSM will harvest it's second elk this fall.

Last year was my first year hunting, so it was more a learning experience then anything, didn't have my license until late November so I was not ready at all. This year I'll have my blind out in a new spot start of September ready for October first. I'll be sitting in it as much as possible for my first whitetail and hopefully draw a doe tag as well, then try to call in some coyotes come January. Can't wait for fall!

As usual whitetail is on the menu, along with grouse and pheasant. New to this year will be duck, geese, and possibly black bear. If the stars align, I may even have the opportunity to take a Newfoundland moose. I've got both a 12 and a 30-06 to christen, luckily my hunting area doesn't require a doe tag.
