Whats your best score/find/trade/buy when it comes to reloading?

Neighbour gave me his spare MEC loader. I didn't use it enough, to I gave it back.

Few years later he's cleaning out some old stock at his factory, and gave me a 5 gallon pail of high tin content solder. Problem was that the stuff was rosin core, so I melted and processed it all on an old Dutch Oven and made it all into pretty little molds that I use to sweeten up some batches of lead for my cast boolits.

Gave a buddy a very minty almost new SxS shotgun. It was so new that it was so tight that you had to push down on the barrels when opening the action. An afternoon of skeets worked the action smooth, and as far as I know he still has it. He got the gun for helping me with a bunch of work around my property and I had more guns than cash to compensate him with, and he wouldn't take cash, but he would take the gun. Go figure.

I was, given a Lyman 45 sizer and a powder measure with a custom brass hopper from a freind , I got even with him I gave him 4 winter tires for his van , and his son and I mounted and balanced them on our lunch hour . Didn't cost him a penny. We didn't tell him ,he brought his van to the shop we worked at for winter tires. The look when he went to pay the bill and was told $0.00 was perfect !
I was given a 3 pound canister of win 571 from a boss I had , he found it one of his rentals and gave it to me . I was also given 2 pounds of win 231 powder a pound of win 540 and a half pound of green dot that the BIL found while cleaning out a basement on a side job, I have been fortunate .

Some very nice scores, the press finds would have made my year! Lucky guys! Keep them coming guys!

Another one I thought of is couple hundred pounds of ww lead from my uncles autoshop and brotherinlaws autoshop. Free! (+ a bottle) Getting time to go check their buckets. Lol

Last summer I had a guy give me 7000 pistol bullets, in 40 cal. and 9mm, factory cast and lubed. There was about 500 rd. of loaded 40 S&W. and about 2000 rd. of brass.
A friend gave me a box of reloading "stuff" a few years ago. There was a Lee hand press, a 1lb. 0f H322, a Lee safety scale, and a 100 257AI cases.
I regularly get boxes of brass given to me by friends who hunt but don't reload.

I have had 3 really lucky purchases with reloading gear. First was a lot of 400 .268dia 160grn pulled surplus bullets with about 100 .327dia 235grn pulled surplus bullets for .33 cents shipped a bullet.

Second was a lot of 500 156grn .264 dia round nose (likely Swedish pulled surplus) bullets for .30 cents a bullet shipped.

Finally I got a local deal for 180lbs of lead and a old press, 4 die sets (2 .357s, 1 .45acp, and 1 44 special) a bunch of odd brass (.30 luger, .38 S&W etc.) some bullet molds etc. for 200$. I resold the lead for 180$ and got to keep the rest for 20$!

About 15-18 tears ago I bid on two junk boxes at an auction. Not sure what caught my attention in them anymore. got them both for 40 bux. Took them home and at the bottom of each were primers!! As I remember there was 14 boxes of various large small rifle and pistol primers. Still have a few of the rifle primers, pistol all gone.

This week I was one of a group of guys that was gifted ammo and hunting stuff. I'm not sure what other guys got, but I feel fortunate beyond words to the donor. My ammo haul was:
300 rds of Barnaul.308
60 rds of Rem .308 Sp's
60 rds Barnes TSX .223
60 rds Hornady .223
50 rds MFS 9x19
50 rds Rem .357
100 rds Win .22Mag
All of this came from a generous Canadian who was moving to the US. I'll use much of your gift to teach kids and new shooters.
Thanks Santa

a mec sizemaster in 12ga - two large rubber maids full of old AAhulls - half a bag of 71/2 shot three bags of wads and assorted powder bushings and spare parts = for the price of the gas to go and get it

When I first started reloading I acquired over 250 new, 270 primed brass just to take it off their hands.
Thought it was good at the time and looking back it was great.

Bought a new carbide cutter for Lyman case trimmer for $5.00 at a gun show, the guy was not sure what it was.

Man, I thought I scored when I got 40% off three boxes of .277 bullets when Wanstalls was clearing out their reloading components earlier this year. Compared to some of you guys, I got right screwed! lol

When I first started reloading a couple of years ago I bought some .30/06 and .35 Remington brass and some powder off fellow CGNer James Harrison.
The bonus was that he had about 4 or 5 of us cgners over to his house and showed us all how to reload.
