Whats Your build plan for the 125$ NEA lower?

far from a bargain.... 239$ you get a matched STI set.

Where can you get the STI set at?

Santa just dropped off a Aero lower yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I tried 3 different uppers on it and they fit perfectly. I changed out the safety to add an ambidextrous version and no problems at all, dropped right in.

My Christmas sale NEA lower arrived today finally, with a 12.5" NEA barrel I might add, thanks to me pestering Ryan before he could even add it to the site. I mated it with my Spikes tactical upper, and was very impressed. The fit is tight enough that it needed a tap with the palm of my hand to seat the upper and lower together, but then they fight tightly with no wobble. I have a Daniel Defense LPK that I'll be installing, didn't have time for any of that today, but figured I would let everyone know that the upper and lower fit together very nicely, colour isn't an exact match, but the upper has a bit of oil to it and the lower appears to have never see any cleaning oil, so I suspect it will darken slightly with just the lightest sheen of oil rubbed on to protect the metal.

You do know that the parts are not supposed to be 'Tapped' together to fit right.?
That is not a "nice" fit. It is 'Making it' fit.

How do you get it open? Break it open like a shotgun... LOL

weird how first it was one too tight lower then two then three. JH (editted by Hungry to respect privacy laws) if you are reading this PM me and we talk about my company making you a go -no go guage for your lowers.

I got a $10 set of digital calipers from Canadian Tire he can have for Free! I got them for 70% off, so they are actually high end......

I have just assembled my LPK with my $ 124.95 lower from SFRC. What's all the fuss? My #### is still here (wait, let me go and have a look). All the parts came together nicely. I invited one my 2PPCLI soldier buddies who is home on leave from Shilo, MB to hang around and learn. He liked the fit with my RRA upper receiver, snug and tight. I like it. I'm a match shooter and there is no play or wobble. :D

That works for me and him, too. He's used to his Colt / Diemaco C8 back in the Battalion, and they have a bit of play he reports. :)

Like AR180Shooter, the 2 of us wiped some oil all over the lower receiver to darken that anodizing on the lower. Seems to have absorbed the oil. Very nice! Looking forward to CQB and SR matches with this lower on my RRA 16" middy upper!

Cheers,
Barney

what brand LPK? NEA?

DPMS brand... works for me. I've been competing at Prov and National levels for over 10 years with their stuff. Works better than I can shoot when I'm doing my rundowns!

My young PPCLI soldier likes how the parts come together nicely, he's ordered a (I hope I got this right... 12.5" ) carbine after seeing the quality of the lower and it's assembly. I was bugging him about buying them AFTER he returns from his deployment to Azzkrakistan this year, but he and a bunch of buddies from the unit have (is ordered the right word?) bought a bunch of NEA rifles to carry out their own shooting/training. Works for them....

Cheers,
Barney

take a look around, any thread that has been discussed here about the problems of these particular lowers, has been locked/deleted by moderators.....

if you have seen none of it, go have a look for yourself in the recycle bin.

These threads sure bring out the CGNers that need to:
A) get laid more
B) get out to the range more
C) increase their dosage
D) all of the above

hungry, I am curious as to how that oil darkening turned out, can you post some pictures? im thinking of getting one or two of these stripped lowers

side note:
people who troll reviews and spew hate gossip constantly on nea threads, make stuff up all the time,(soft yfs screws, nea not making barrels, ect) not to mention attacking dave and other members personally (violation of TOS of CGN),

yet I have gotten infraction-ed just for stating my opinion that they make fine parts, especially for the price.

Dave, you are so utterly full of sh!t it is unreal. You are probably the least honest person on CGN. Whats even funnier is a guy who had a converstaion with himself posting as gunnybunny can accuse me of spouting BS. the reason you dislike my posts so much is that they are true. By all means though Please point out where I have lied about anything NEA ever did or built. Tick tock Dave.

personal attacks,

No, Nea doesn't make the barrels they sell, thats common knowledge. Everything I said was true every single thing I described has occured with NEA parts. The only person lying here is you.

cause steel companies dont make steel unless they also mine it themselves right?

painters cant say they made a painting, unless they make the canvas and frame right?

give the crusade a rest, people starting threads on their guns/projects shouldnt have to wade through endless off topic, insulting, and often mis informed posts about how "awful" their choice on brand is

not to mention no infractions for posting personal info like above...

i guess some people would rather see a canadian company fail, and then have to pay higher prices for the imported ar's because of lack of competition than have a great option for a canadian made ar.

and if the whole outsourcing parts was such a big deal then why no hate for the lowers spikes and stag(as well as many others) has that are made by areo??

Case in point here -

Noveske is known for excellent barrels. If you buy one of their SS barrels it is going to be a Sub MOA capable shooter. Period.

Now Noveske does this -

They contract the Steel. They specify their material hardness and buy it from... someone. Who the hell knows.

They ship that steel to Pac Nor. Pac Nor shuts down their company and then puts Noveske's tooling on and pulls out Noveske's specs and turns the blanks. After they are done they put away Noveske's tooling and specs and go back to their own barrels with their own tooling and their own specs.

Noveske gets the blanks from Pac Nor and then does whatever they do to finish them... whether or not they rifle them there or just drill gas ports and put on barrel extensions or just pisses on them and calls it good who knows.

Now who "makes" those barrels? We know they are good. We know they shoot. But who lays claim to the quality of them?

My vote is for Noveske... They aren't Pac Nor barrels.... They aren't ABC steel company... They are Noveske.

So, who does make NEA barrels? I got an NEA 12.5" barrel for my build. As much as people complain about their quality, you can't beat a lifetime warranty on a part that is known to wear out.
