It's supposed to be my HS-Precision .270 Win. But more often then not, it seems my Rem 700 .30-06 ends up slung over my shoulder whenever I'm hunting anything that doesn't bite (or kick or stomp) back.

It varies from year to year.
Last year it was my 5½ lb M600 Remington chambered in 6MM BR, using the 90 grain Scirocco II.
Year before, my 270, and the 140 Accubond.
This year my 260 Remington 700, and the 125 Partition.
Sometimes my 6.5x55 gets the nod, or the 6.5x55AI.
7x57 is always a good partner to have along...the list goes on & on.

My favorite deer gun is my Winchester model 660 in 3006, with a scope , original wood... my back up rifle is my 303 number one , with a complete over haul , scoped,and synthetic stock. Dang scopes slow me down on the raise , old eyes need the help...

A '49 husqvarna in .270 with a 3-9x scope. Amazing gun.

Next year is strictly levers until I take one with grandpas old '94. And afterwards I'm packing my Rossi .44mag with the full stock on my back for anything close.

My favourite rifle was an old husky crown grade in .270. The next one in line is a T3 in 6.5x55 with a Bausch and Lomb 3000 2-7x32. It's really good at deer.

I'm trying to get a deer with my marlin 45-70 but it's only been a far out coyote so far. 480gr at 1700 hit it like a buick.

I've used lots of other rifles in the past, but these are the ones I've grabbed recently. If someone said "hey we are going hunting tomorrow for 3 weeks in the middle of nowhere - could get shots at deer, moose, elk,grizzly, sheep and they could be 0-500 yards away- grab a gun and come with us" I'd always grab my 300WSM Leeper. It is my favorite rifle and can do it all, everywhere. It is the perfect NA all around rifle.
