22 ammo
I like to shoot 22 quite a bit and I have several 22's to choose from. Mostly bolt guns. I have tried most all of the less expensive ammo that is sold in bricks. The one that works the best in all of my rifles is the Federal American Eagle in the 38gr hollow point.
when I was doing my testing for the ammo I wanted to stock up on i was trying to find a product that was less than $20.00 per brick
Now if I thought I could afford to shoot nothing but Win Powerpoints, that likely may have been my ammo of choice. But cases of it were not available when I was doing my shopping, and now they are close to $40.00 a brick.
My other Fav. that shoot well in my rifles is the 36gr Remington Game Load. I have tried the 36gr Champion and the accuracy in my guns was poor, so I was quite surprised how well these 36gr Remingtons did in my guns.
These are the two cartridges that I use to hunt gophers with, and after I have altered the hollow point with my Paco tool, and the ammo I take to the range when shooting a newly purchased rifle.
For target shooting I have only ever tried Lapua in the Super Club and the Master M series, and have only fired very few rounds of this ammo. The gun that shot this ammo the best out of my collection is one of my CZ's, although I haven't tried it yet in all of my CZ 22's.
I understand the Eley Tennex is a great 22 target ammo and at $183.00 a brick you would hope so. The other highly regarded 22 ammo is the CCI Green Tag, another product I've yet to try.
