So what 22LR ammo is your favorite, and why?

And what 22LR have you had bad luck with?? Missfires? Light strikes? Failure to fully cycle a semi?

I love my Mini Mags. I've never had one jam in my 10/22. But I rarely have a ftf/fte anyways no matter what ammo I feed it.
I just bought some CCI AR Tactical. I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I'm not sure whats different about them, they look just like mini mags. As far as I can tell the only difference is the price.

To be honest I haven't tried many different brands. I found what works well right off the bat, and haven't seen much need to try other brands when what I've been buying has been working pretty good. I'd say the worst .22lr ammo I use is the Federal 525 pack stuff. But I'll still buy it though. Works well enough.

Best ammo for my 10/22, eley practice. All my best groups with the gun have been shot with this. Worst was federal auto match.

I prefer federal target, mostly cause there usually on the shelf and are accurate. Bought some fed automatch and they seem good as well. CCI green tag is good but expensive.
Least favourite is Remington and Winchester, I did buy some of those new win varmint ones though, but I bought about 12 different kinds to see what one of my rimfires liked. No problems with any of them going bang, split necks from rem 17hmr though.
Haven't dabbled into the fancy stuff yet - lapua, eley, rws.

My favorite?? Anything CCI makes. I've very literally NEVER had a problem with CCI ammo. Winchester M-22 has been a solid performer, too.

Remington ammo, though? Lousy. When it works, it's okay-ish, but the amount of F2F's and varying powder loads from shot to shot makes it frustrating and more than a little worrying.

I like CCI...Blazers for most of my semis, Federal Bulk as well.
I have found Winchester ammo (555, 333 targetm HV) to be terrible for my PPs-50 or 10/20 (with drum mags), the bullet actually bends in the casing half the time.... but OK for bolt actions and my Henry - Give it to Henry, Henry'll eat anything!

I've never shot the exotic stuff, but for casual target shooting and plinking, CCI SV has proven to be a really good performer in my rifle, however it hasn't been available in my area for a while.
Someone gave me some Remington golden bullets and I never did see how they performed because of feeding issues.
Of the Winchester varieties, Dyna-Points have been given me the best groupings.
Tried the Federal Auto-Match, found it about on par with the Winchesters.

Federal has always been good to me, and is my personal favorite.

Winchester sucks the big hairy one.

Remington is complicated. 80% of their crap, is just that, crap. The Golden Bullets HAVE worked reliably, they're just dirty as hell. The .303 br ammo is decent also.

CCI is the primo ammo, and the priciest.

I'm also a big fan of the CCI MiniMags. When I first acquired my 10/22 in `98 I took a box of everything they had in stock which was probably 10 different manufacturers/variants. The minimag never gave me a single problem and it was twice as many as some other stuff that was failing. I also really like their SGB (Small game bullet - not sure if it's still a current product), but they were only a little more accurate and were generally not worth the premium. I still have a stash of them reserved for hunting. :)

My go to ammunition for most of my rifles, is SK Standard Plus, It is quite accurate, for a reasonable price. I also purchased some RWS Championship Edition for a good price, and my Volquartsen really likes that load. The worst that I have tried was Winchester Wildcat. I tried it in a custom 10/22 , and it was so dirty , that the gun would start to malfunction after about 100 rounds.

Mostly CCI mini mags... But I have been shooting Remington thunderbolts as of late and my 10/22 just loves them..... For the worst , Winchester bulk... Could not get 3 rounds of with out a jam
With the thunderbolts it's essential that you clean it after 2000 rounds :) as they are a little dirty
