That is great. So both of you should understand the advantage that a shorter barrel offers, in tight, close situations. Many thick cover whitetail hunters know this, so it's kinda a no brainer.
If you are getting 450 loads out of one piece of brass with no issues, then you are going down in handloading history.![]()
So how many loads should I be getting out of my H&H brass? About 450 full house hand loads in the past few months out of that gun and nothing yet. Not sure how many times my brass has been loaded, I would have to go down and figure it out.
Ok, that is very cool. You like your .375 Ruger and I like my .375 H&H. To be honest with you...I don't yet really know why I like it. It's probably because it's a beautiful M70 that I just bought on the EE forum, my first rifle purchase there and in what "I" think is a very cool caliber. I don't think that "your" caliber of choice is any less cooler by the way, I honestly really trully emphatically, deeply, honestly don't give a s**t. I also honestly think that, and I know that you don't either...."cause I know that you're more intelligent than that (even though you can't spell worth a s**t) think that Crazy_Davey reloaded the same case 450 times. Right?....please tell me you don't believe that. Come on Gatehouse, let go of that cartridge life BS. You haven't even fired that gun often enought to know better. Dude, you have a beautiful gun, in a very capable caliber...just be happy man.![]()
My H&H has a 20" barrel, but gitrdun did not buy his rifle for the same reasons I use mine for. Not everyone wants a short barrel, even in the bush.
Well that is great. One of the nice options that we have these days is a barrel as long as you want, suited best to your individual purposes. It is nice that the 375 Ruger comes in different barrel lengths, and the 20" barrel 375 Ruger will duplicate HH velocity from a 24"-26" barrel, wheeras your 20" H&H is probably a bit slower. I am sure it is effective for your purposes, though.

Well said Gatehouse.Gatehouse said:You never get the "I'm okay with new" crowd (like me) talking crap about the "old" cartridges, but you sure as heck get the "anti-new crowd" turning red in the face about any new cartridge.
What many "Anti New' cartridge people fail to understand is that the argument is never about how BAD the "classic" cartridge is, it is about how "Good" the new one can be.

BLAH BLAH BLAH ........ This whole thread is a joke...... Take a pillWell said Gatehouse.
The kicker is when you put forth a succinct argument and thoughtful debate.... the naysayers got nothing! Thats when the stupid s**t starts... idiotic personal attacks and off topic ramblings about being popular.![]()
You belive I am unhappy? This is the intraweb, and there are very few things I get serious about on the intraweb, and discussing the .375 whammer vs the 375 slamer is not one of them.

The following quote was also "well said" by Gatehouse.

Hey Super... that was a classic Pavlovian response, you made my morning... keep it up... your inanity is second only to your consistency.

Where have you been? I thought you gave up on us.Guys........please don't be using big words like these when I'm trying to figure out if any rules are being broken in this thread, it makes it hard as I have to actually concentrate on it.

Gatehouse, the jab about the spelling was just some humour, I've never seen your fingers man, sorry about that. Anyways, you understand my point and I understand yours....so peace brother.

Here, now your head can match your fingers.
