On topic... what is the case capacity of a .375 Ackley Improved compared to the other .375's?
I know where there is a Custom CZ with a Fagen stock in .375 AI that might come on the market.:)

The AIs give the same case life I believe.
 
I just picked up a Weatherby Mark V chambered in .378 Magnum. It sounds like opinions are all over the board on this one. I’d like to shoot it with some good results, but I hate to go down the rabbit hole of buying dies and working up a load. Any suggestions on factory ammo with long range capabilities?
 
Because you revived an ancient thread, I voted. Haha. I chose 375 Ruger as that is what I have now. I did have many H&H slso and a 378wby over the years. 378 is my second pick. Good luck finding a true long range bullet for your 378 as most bullets are tough close range. LRX and accubond might have legs to 500yds but there is no eldx/m yet.

The sleekest factory load is the 270gr Interlock with a claimed BC of .380, should work well out to 1/4 mile if you can hit anything

After using a .375 H&H for some time I was desiring a more modern, less obsolete version. I had decided on the now forgotten 375 WBY which is basically a 375 AI.

I was moments away from getting it done, I had even bought a Winchester 70 7 STW to use as donor action when the 375 Ruger showed up.

I quickly realized this was a better design- purpose built rather than a belted wildcat sorta thing.

While the 375 Ruger is unquestionably the finest .375 caliber cartridge ever devised, I sure do think the 375 WBY was a fine design for the time and WBY should have paid more attention to it.
 
I love my H&H, Weatherby Vanguard. Bought it brand new through Cabelas for $760 on sale, just before the covid madness. Unbelievable accuracy, only weighs eight pounds, and is a pleasure to shoot with 260gr accubonds around 2750 fps. Only taken one black bear with it so far, I'll hang up the 358 and try it for moose this year.
