I voted for the 375 H&H, but admitedly that was a very biased voted as I have no experience except the last 10 rounds that I just fired out of my newly acquired M70. What the heck, they all make a .375 hole...right? But you can't argue against the coolness of a classic cartridge as the 1912 H&H. :D

While I'm at it, would it deter from the coolness factor to have mine Ackley improved? what would I gain?

375 H&H -- Mine is a Winchester pre-64 M70, C-1 tapered barrel, low-comb stock. The weight balance is perfect for me and the recoil is enjoyable. It comes straight back. Love it.

So ... I'm seeing a pattern here on CGN.

Certain cartridges become the popular one here on CGN until the next popular one comes along and takes over. It's kinda like in skool when there were popular kids who were kewler than the dweebs and had more friends & people that just wanted to hang out with them because they wanted to be seen with the popular kids.

The new popular one here on CGN will be the 375Ruger, which will overtake the last popular one which was the 45/70, which overtook the popular one before that which was the 35 Whelen, which overtook the popular one before that which was the 375H&H.

Many people will buy these new calibers just to be a part of the ..... CGN POPULAR ONES!

Anybody else see this pattern??? :D

BTW ..... Stay tuned to CGN for great deals in the EE on Marlin Guide Guns in 45/70.

I am sorry you were not popular in school Super... maybe if you had taken your helmet off in class.:D

I am not gonna respond to the other nonsense by that marginal character. Just ruins good threads like this one.;)

On topic... what is the case capacity of a .375 Ackley Improved compared to the other .375's?
I know where there is a Custom CZ with a Fagen stock in .375 AI that might come on the market.:)

[SERIOUS] .... Any info you can find on the 375 Weatherby (NOT 378) can be applied to the 375AI. Pretty much the same. I was gonna buy or build one a couple of years back, but decided that I am too wimpy for anything more than an H&H or similar.

My vote goes for the 38/55, a fun cartridge to shoot, little recoil, inexpensive to reload, still used in target comp.(Shuetzen and Bpcr).

A while back someone posted that the new 375 Ruger has better case life than the 375 H&H. Since the Ruger is brand-new how could that be proven ?
I bought my 375 Browning in 1964 and have been reloading for it since then, but case life has never been an issue....if anything its excellent, far better than my 270s or 7mm Mags. Even my old 300 H&H has really good case life.
No doubt there are better and more efficient cartridges out there than my 375 H&H but its never let me down and I'm just too comfortable with it to change.
To those of you buying the new Ruger, if you enjoy it half as much as I like my old Browning, you're gonna be very happy !:D

Ha Ha the Popular Pattern.....

I have been on Gunnnutz for a very long time in one life form or another and I have seen the Popular Pattern over and over from people that strive to be popular, it goes something like this.

1 Make posts that attempt to be informiatve yet stand out

2 Agree with the already popular people, but disagree enough to cause conversation.

3 Send PM's to popular people, try to befriend them

4 Buy a gun from the EE from an already popular person, post a pic, then talk about it.

5 Develop a niche wich you are known for eg pump guns 7x57's, leveractions, wit, ballistic tables

6 Rule the forum with your insight, wich has now become the same as all the other popular people's

Your "patterning" sure isn't reflected by the poll numbers, the 375 H&H seems to lead the way in the popularity contest. :)
