Rifle of whatever sort become secondary to all the gear you need on a hunt?
Make no mistake, I love acquiring hunting rifles and optics to go with as the situation demands. But I must be touching a cornerstone in my hunting life, for whatever reason - rangefinders and rifles with magnification of silly levels have lost my interest temporally. Proper wool gear, and some truly fine hunting moccasins have my attention. Been yapping about a flintlock for far too long... if I don't make a bivy off the side of my quad this year, may be time to hand in the Old Boy's Club Card... Cant believe I said quad and not bushwhack for 12 miles!!
