When pistols return: your first buy?

I hear ya Graham. The only handgun I kinda regret selling was a FA 83 Premier Grade with all the fixings in 500 Wyoming Express. Bought it off Gun Broker for $1300 USD, dollar almost par at the time. With import fees, taxes and shipping around $2000. Brass dies etc add another couple hundred. Sold it for what I paid, hate to see what they go for now, hopefully the Turd gets flushed and Poilievre thaws the freeze.

I bet that was a beauty (if not a handful in that calibre!). The FA83 is definitely a favourite. Fingers crossed. I'd love a crack at Gun Broker again.

I was good for two cylinder worth of full house loads, my pain threshold:d Medium loads were a pussycat. Now that I reminisce about it..yeah should’ve kept it. I’ll try to remember in my next incarnation to keep it:p

Well I am less than 8 years away from getting a pension that will allow me not to work again so that is why I'm still here. Also, my wife is from the USA so it won't be an issue for me to move there. Enjoy life in the butthole of Canada! Yes, I'm referring to Nova Scotia. Certain states are great, others are just as bad as Canada.

The difference is, I know NS is ####, I dont complain as it is what it is. I make it work, and I don't sit on a internet forum #####ing, how I wish I was somewhere else.

The good thing here is that pistols have never went away. Never will.
Gun control doesn't work.

The non-government controlled black market is thriving so one can get anything they want, albeit at a higher price than they were previously.

Replacing some I lost in my November house fire, Glock 17FDE and Glock 34MOS. I recently replaced my two 870s with tac 14s (12G & 20G).

AR-15's were once non-restricted, then restricted, then non-restricted, then restricted and now banned. Anything can happen with a simple stroke of the pen!

I agree with you. When I first got my very first AR-15 it was unrestricted. Then I had to register it. Then I had to de-register it. A farse. All my fun guns were lost in a horrific boating accident in 1989 which depressed me so badly, I moved to Mexico and made a life there that's just waiting for me to go back to. If there's another (Vietnam-era) AR-15/M-16 in my future, it will be down there. Probably purchased directly from the Salamanca Police Department Armory, where they have 5 or 6 old SP-1/A1 rifles languishing in the racks with cracked triangle handguards and 1-12 twist barrels, now so unloved by the Police Tactical Boise who want the new M-4 knockoffs and G-36 rifles to stand around looking cool with.

However, I prefer to think positively. I like to think Pierre will roll back the handgun transfer ban. It's the right thing to do because it punishes the wrong people. And, it's anti-business. At the same time, he can make it legal for gun-ranges with their own secure storage to rent-out full-autos. Hell, he could even let the ranges allow people to own their own full-autos but be stored on site. I don't care.

Do I think it will actually happen? The handgun transfer ban rollback might. The rest, probably not. Either way, Mexico is still there, waiting seductively for me to go down and buy some more guns. After I finish buying back some of my choice guns I left down there with others to care for them, of course.

Canada, without the ability to buy oneself a new pistola every now and then, is just one more drab and semi-impoverished land that's too cold most of the time, too woke and effeminate by far, and full of laws made for citiots with a healthcare system on the brink of self-destruction and people who have lost all hope. Well, I don't blame them for that: if Pierre doesn't get in and turn it around, they will have lost all hope. Sad situation, no doubt. I prefer to think positive and believe that things will swing back. It helps make the days seem brighter. And if not, well: we'll always have Mexico.
