???? Where are all the sks-d's ???

my... my... none of my "D" collection never came with a box. this one is minty.... nooiice but not worth $1500.

No more SKS for you? I remember you being the man 10 years ago. What happened? Anyways, you can jump back in and buy 9 for $7,900 now on the EE, cough cough.

Takes about 15 min of messaging to buy an unissued Russian with all matching numbers for 550 to 600. Just saying for a friend.

Don't be afraid getting back in slowly. The community will surely miss you as an expert. I am getting back in and don't care what I sold mine for. I had 10 SKS - sold them 5 years ago, now I am back up to 6. They are still cheap dude, I am certain you can still find D's for $700 - only CGN talk, you and I can talk them down in no time, lol, I will also forget that you infracted me twice, weeeh. - not sure if insider trader is forbidden, lol.

Just wait when the dealers have no more stock, .... I am buying SKS for part out later. No parts in Canada.

with things the way they are and prices doing what they are doing...... wonder what this minty D would be worth.

There's a paratrooper bayo, they are shorter, on EE that would maybe work with that ATI stock. That's if you're interested in a bayo on it.

you want to check if the t81 mags are working ...

Type 81 mag did not worn an M10x in one YouTube review, may not work on SKS-D. An AK magazine modded to work on Type 81 (provides no bolt hold open on Type 81) may work on both.

T81 mags won't fit into Beta Arms SKS-D (AK style release, bayo). As there are many variants of what ppl call SKS-D and they have slightly different designs of mag catch, results may vary, however I'm inclined to think they will not.

I've got (had... damn boating accident) a Beta Arms SKS-D.

Bubba had got to the bayonet lug with a hacksaw and grinder, and the sights were covered in alternating colours of nail polish, but I rescued it on the cheap. The mag that came with it was hacked down from a longer one to hold 4 rounds, and the base plate was held on with a loop of wire hammered into place and ground down. Bubba is a true handy man.

The stock was original and un-molested, it still had the steel lining to the mag well and a cutout for a spike bayonet. Thanks to a guy in Siberia selling original Russian SKS bayonet lugs on e-Bay, and Lever arms for a Chinese spike, I was able to un-bubba this monstrosity and bring her back to full form. Thankfully someone imported a bunch of KCI AK mags so I was able to take care of replacing the bubba magazine as well. It shoots no better or worse than any other SKS I owned, and truth be told it groups slightly worse with the bayonet on. Next time I'll extend it and see how it goes... once my scuba gear is ready. ;)

Having used actual AK's on a few occasions, the mags load much more reliably than they do with an SKS-D. If you don't align it just right, the front tab won't latch in the receiver properly and you have to start again. It's finnicky to say the least and not something I'd trust my life on. Though it's pretty much fail safe if you use old com-bloc drills: turn it over and load with the right hand as the rifle is upside down. True 80's style.
