The ocular is a wide-angle 20-60 magnification. This scope is the predessor to the current new models. What eye pc is that one that is included? Looks different then the one you get here in Canada.
A little easier using from the bench. - danSilly question; why are some scopes straight on view, while others are angled? Is there a benefit to looking down into the scope, vs. straight?
Only if you have an American Credit Card.If you can't find what you're looking for in Canada, Cameraland NY will ship to Canada.
This scope has fluorite, however not the fluorite crystal, if I remember. I believe that the large ring orifice is an adaptation for a camera.Okay, so the model before the prominar fluorite glass. Still a nice optic.
I ask about the eye pc because the previous 77 model I had, previous to the fluorite glass didn't have that weird protrusion on the eye pc. https://kowaoptics.com/pages/tsn-88-prominar
No, I used my Hometrust US Visa to order a rifle scope, spotting scope and a tripod without issue. I gave them a call beforehand. My last order was a couple of years ago.Only if you have an American Credit Card.
I’ve e purchased a range finder and binos from them 10-15 years ago without issues. A few years ago I tried to buy a camera from them and was told the couldn’t ship to Canada (which was weird). Last September I tried buying a tripod and was having issues online so I called them. Now that I’m m thinking about it, I think my issue was that the shipping cost was high and I wanted them to ship it to my shipping address across the border. They couldn’t ship to a US address and charge on a Canadien card. Their suggestion was that I get an American CC. You might be right if the shipping address matches the CC.No, I used my Hometrust US Visa to order a rifle scope, spotting scope and a tripod without issue. I gave them a call beforehand. I think you're right, I shipped my spotting scope and tripod directly to Canada and the scope was imported by Prophet River.I’ve e purchased a range finder and binos from them 10-15 years ago without issues. Good score!Holy-moly! I ordered the Kowa scope on August 14th, shipped on the 15th, arrived today, the 19th, all the way from Japan. Only $109 for excise/duty tax. Scope is absolutely awesome. What a deal, and Kowa is just as good as Swarovski!
So if it’s not intrusive, what was the total when all said and done? PS NICE glassHoly-moly! No problem. The price was $1,420.00 USD, then they nailed me with 70% currency exchange, whch came to $2,082.59. With the excise tax of $109.32, the total amount arrived at: $2,191.91. I'm most content with the price and the superb optics. A person cannot come close to this price with todays Kowa and Swarovski spotting scopes. So if it’s not intrusive, what was the total when all said and done? PS NICE glass
I've had exceptional success in dealing with Cameraland. Definitely a stand up bunch. If you can't find what you're looking for in Canada, Cameraland NY will ship to Canada.
Did you buy it new or used. I might have a hard time getting warranty if it's used. Because it does not have a transferable warranty. Also It says that if you need warranty, if you bought it new, you will have to send it back to japan for warranty.Holy-moly! All depends on your use case, and personal preference plays a big part too.Silly question; why are some scopes straight on view, while others are angled? Is there a benefit to looking down into the scope, vs. straight?
I'm not to concerned about the warranty, they are awesome products. It's is used, however it's like new, not one blemish or defect. For some reason, if there is a problem down the road, I'll ship it back and have it repaired.Did you buy it new or used. I might have a hard time getting warranty if it's used. Angled spotters are a lot easier on the neck and shoulders. All depends on your use case, and personal preference plays a big part too.
I like angled versions, because I am a hunter and the angled versions tend to be better for looking uphill at stuff, as well as the fact that I can use a more compact/lighter tripod without sacrificing stability because my head sits above rather than behind the optic.
