Where can I buy a barrel for a CZ858

Any suggestions on methods to really clean the inside of the bore? I was thinking of maybe putting a bronze brush on an electric drill.

Dude - that is getting to the ridiculous stage. How the heck can you use your handle and not have checked the red rifle stickies? Sorry buddy but you are sinking - bailing, bailing.... Look I left a patch in my CSA 58 striker channel and it fired for a bit and then failed. That was funny. What you are saying sounds alot like standing around and not getting down to business. Get on it mate. Your man ticket arrived with your PAL.

We all did similar noob stuff. I did, at least. Let's just try and help him through this.

I wouldn't use a bronze brush tho bro, if it's the chrome one then you couldn't scratch it, but if it's the 858, you could theoretically scratch it if you're too rough, or mess up the rifling. Basically, shoot the gun and then do what I told you.

No, that strongly goes against my code of ethics - I believe in buying guns, not selling them! Maybe I have mild OCD, but this imperfect bore is really bothering me. And I thought I did everything right by cleaning it right after shooting, which makes it even worse haha. I will give it the boiling water treatment next time

Fair enough.. but please shoot it.. then OCD cleaning.. 20 rounds will do it.

Forget about what you thought you did.. just do what you need to do now!

I thought I did everything right at the time... I cleaned it right away after shooting. The old Hoppes #1 used to say it was good for corrosive ammo, but I recently noticed the new stuff is missing that. Anyway I didn't get it clean enough and learned the hard way. Definitely won't do it again

Well you have to use boiling water or else your gun will rust and shoot flakes out the barrel with each trigger pull...that's a fact. The corrosive salts need to be washed off.

You should find out if it's a Czech Small Arms, because if it is the barrel is chrome and I HIGHLY doubt you could pit the chrome on one of those barrels. That would take truly alarming amounts of negligence. If you're really OCD, go boil some water, remove the bolt and all that stuff, point the muzzle down in a bathtub, and pour the water down, while being careful as **** to not burn yourself. Again, shooting is probably the best bet, but this might make it a bit better right now. Worse case scenario nothing happens.

Honestly if I were going to shoot corrosive ammo, I'd mix a bit of balistol with some hot water, and then pour the solution over the bolt/bcg and down the barrel and on the piston. When the hot water evaporates, which it does really quickly, it leaves a thin film of oil over the parts. That's good for the bolt. Making sure no oil got on the piston is a good call though.

TLDR, try the hot water now if you want, but shooting is the best bet. You really need to find out if it's a CSA or not though buddy. It should say under the rear sight, on the block. I think on the left side.

I'm OCD on certain things as well OP and suggest you go over all your guns every couple of months. Even if you didn't fire them, do it to ingrain the breakdown procedure(s). And Hoppes #9 is your friend.

Maaan, don't tell him that! I know so many shooters that hear that and then think corrosive ammo is a problem simply "solved" by using a solvent. You gotta use hot water to be super thorough because you can pour a litre of it and really make sure you get off all the salts. So many people seem to think that like 10 ml of solvent is going to as much but then surprise, surprise, they get rust.

And it's still ready for a chrome brush.... Oh BTW - I always to a boiling water wash and scrub.. Hoppes comes out after...

Mine is CSA (Czech Small Arms) Chrome lined for my pleasure.. not hers...LOL.. ha,ha ... CZ' 858's never came in black...as the OP mentions his is black as well... did they ?

ok I went and checked, mine is a CSA and looks identical to this one^

So it does have a chrome lined barrel then?

CSA sold rifles with both chrome lined barrels and non chrome lined barrels. Im pretty sure if your serial number has a C some where in it, it means its chrome if I can remember correctly.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic but I've somehow managed to never have rust on any rifle that I used corrosive ammunition in over the years despite the fact that I've never used hot water to clean them. In fact, all I ever use is Hoppes#9.

Crazy, no?
