Anyone on here know where you can buy the Duracoat paint in Canada? I've been wanting to paint some rifles with something a little more durable then Krylon. Or, has anyone ordered any from the US and knows how costly it would be to get up here?

You can't! I started using it years ago. Got it from Black Cat Coatings in Edmonton. Then they quit carrying it. Actually ordered from Lauer in the US the next time - boy that was pricey. Then I found a paintball place in Ontario that carried it - went out of business. Wanstalls had some of the kits a couple years back, but not what I needed. Finally decided, last year, to bite the bullet and order from Lauer again - they won't ship to Canada anymore because they are working with "SOMEBODY" that will be the "EXCLUSIVE" dealer in Canada. That's been the story for the last year or so - still no dealer!

Arma-coat is a similar air-cure epoxy-based firearms coating to Dura-coat. Barret, the propritor used to be a site sponsor. A google search will turn him up. He is located in Thorhild, AB. Barret does good work and also sells his product for do-it-yourselfers.

Arguably tougher and thinner (tolerances), is CeraCoat which requires industrial baking to cure, but produces awesome finishes. Many manufacturers go with CeraCoat for factory-original finishes such as FDE and Burnt Bronze. Search the Gunsmithing forum for CeraCoat applicators in Canada. Not sure you'd want to tackle this product at home...

Never used kg but duracoat is shipping to Canada again. I really like duracoat on stocks and Ceracoat on metal. Shipping was about $30 on the last order I made think I got 24 ounces of product.

I've used KG gun kote, looks good and haven't worn it off anything yet. Was fairly easy to apply but they say prep is key and the amount of money I put into a blasting cabinet and finding 120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive to prep properly it would have been cheaper to pay someone to do Cerkote. After 10 guns it'll start being cheaper to diy.

Thanks for that, good point on the prep and cost.
