Where to buy 30 Cal gas checks?

As above Amerimax or Canadian version Euramax. Contractor desk at Lowes ordered it in for me

With the copper flashing how do you know the gauge of it.

Is everyone using Pats checkmakers? Are there others that are comparable?

I know there are plans for making your own floating around too.
Good to see there are options for material.

Pats are good checkmakers if you can stand all the whining from them if you ask where your check maker is after waiting 6 month. Plus his are a two part process which doubles your time need to make checks

Go to Castboolits and snoop around, there are a couple guys who now make and sell single stroke check makers.

If you are handy I can get the plans for you

As to plans to make them is there a link or such plans. I bought a couple arbor presses and was given a foot press just for this reason.

I have a guy in Alberta who's made me a 30 cal and a 22 cal gas check maker. They are works of art. One pull creates a finished gas check. Feel free to PM me for his details.

i just gone done making 30 cal checks from a roll of 8inch by 50ft, 014 thick. I did not waste too much and took my time making them and got 19250 pieces. should keep me going for a few years if I don't loose any guns to turdo.

And what does that much metal cost and was it copper or aluminium

it is aluminium and the roll cost me 53$, the tool cost me 125$. not a bad investment seeing what they cost now. have to look for some copper but it is not going to be cheap.

I have some .008 copper sheeting here plus and sure I can scrounge aluminium someplace. I believe .008 is the correct thickness for gas checks. I have tried to find something that just out right says use this and that but so far just find aluminium at .o14

I bought a roll of flashing today and it is .011 and it will not crimp on to the bullets. have to use it for home repair.

I have used both roof sheeting and pop cans with dies designed for each that work well in .30cal, .303, 9MM, .40cal/10MM, and 38/357. It is a lot of work time wise, but I don't worry about where to buy them either.

Take Care

Bob

If you don’t want to order amerimax .014 you can make .011 work with a strip of beer/pop can material on top of your .011 and punch. More fiddling around but you can make use of the .011 material that way.
